Mrs. Ari is a blueprint for a perfect woman

Mrs. Ari is a blueprint for a perfect woman

I came to realize that Perrey Reeves (who is currently 42) the actress who plays Melissa Gold aka Mrs. Ari (Ari Gold's wife) in HBO's highly successful series Entourage may be a blueprint of how a 40-year old woman could look like. Or rather how any woman 20 years her junior should look like. I understand that her body type may be not for everyone, and she certainly could be a few pounds heavier and/or more curvier and still pull the hot, sexy look. This is not just a courtesy saying that Perrey Reeves looks incredibly younger now, but that by any universal definition she is beyond smoking hot, and her tight, lite body @40 years of age looks better than most 18 y.o. I'm sure this comes as a result of an incredible healthy lifestyle (I imagine her munching on celery sticks and doing cardio and yoga in her free time). In other words, Perrey Reeves makes a conscious effort to be and maintain to be the best incredible physical specimen she can be. But, she also never had any children. Do you think that lack of biological children is the predominant factor in her incredible looks? Or do you think her body would be nearly as flawless as it is if she had two kids like Mrs. Ari - the character she portrays.

Furthermore, here is where it gets interesting for me: Ari Gold -- a TV epitome of an alpha male if there ever was one -- is portrayed as a ruthless Hollywood player with misogynist and sexist tendencies, but at the same time as a loving father and loyal husband who after a dozen years of marriage has never strayed (despite his incredible potential pull yielded through his power player status, wealth, professional and social prestige, etc.). In other words, Mr. Ari could have pretty much any woman in Hollywood he wants (on the side, if not as main course) but he doesn't want any of them. All he wants is Mrs. Ari.

And Mrs. Ari is portrayed not only as a top physical specimen who seduces her husband in skimpy lingerie every chance she gets, but is often also shown chomping vegetables in the kitchen, or dealing with their two children. She is also never seen as a true nagging wife, the closest to it comes in the form of requests that Mr. Ari spends more time with her and their kids (his family). And isn't that a positive trait (a loving wife and mother): because we all know that many housewives in her situation would be happy to have their husbands at work as long as possible while they shop or get serviced by a pool guy.

Hence, the question: is Mrs. Ari the epitome of a perfect woman? Isn't that all we want from a LTR: a smoking hot, lingerie-clad feminine vixen in bed without an ounce of fat looking 20 years younger. A traditional, loving, supportive wife. A devoted, caring mother. Every positive female role fulfilled, exemplified and amplified.

And what does she gets in return?

Mr. Ari who not only brings home the bacon, but rules the empire. While loving only her emotionally and sexually.

Perrey Reeves agrees:

"Perrey says she wouldn’t have anyone else as her fictional one and only. “He’s really fun and spontaneous. He’s always a surprise. He has an incredibly sexy charisma,” she says. “I truly have the best on-screen husband.”

Match made in (scriptwriting) heaven, or a real-life possibility? What do you think? Would you settle with Mrs. Ari?

I've only seen a few episodes - Ari Gold is the character that makes that show watching - but isn't his wife always bitching at him for something?

Keeping the king happy is a lot of hard work.

But how else do they expect to stay queen?

Not sure about this. Ari is quite Alpha in business, but not really in relation to his wife. Even Wikipedia agrees:
Quote:Quote:

Despite his position as one of the most powerful agents in Hollywood, Ari acquiesces to his wife at home (who has a large inheritance from her father), who is able to keep him in check.

She appears to be the one to have upper hand in their marraige. Not alpha at all. Also, if I remember correctly, they had some serious problems and split up for some time as well. It seems like in the beginning she was coming from money, not him, and her family money probably helped him build the empire. Overall, not a bad deal for Ari, but far from "perfect" relationship. I guess a more or less realistic portrayal of "good" modern American marriage.

But compare this to Don Draper and his second wife who is 20 years younger, super hot, intelligent, talented and worships the ground he walks on. She very rarely disrespects him, and if she does it will be most likely handled in a very alpha way (e.g. he throws her on the bed and bangs the shit out of her.) Compared to Don, Ari is a quivering beta.

I think it is actually positive that she didn't have to depend on Ari for easy living. It provides a nice balance to their relationship as it gives Ari further incentive to be into her. Far too many women who are married to wealthy men came out from no money, and are for all practical purposes dead wood useless. And therefore by default needy and by the same extension manipulative. I pity Russian oligarchs married to those airhead models'. Or p4p sex tourists and their gf's. Or for that matter Don Draper's 20 years younger wife. Isn't she on her best behavior only because she wants to use him. It's easy to be an alpha when a woman in the relationship is in heavily disadvantaged position. It must suck knowing that only reason a woman is with you because she wants to drain you of your financial and/or material resources.

Moreover, if it indeed is true that Mr. Ari's family wealth provided initial traction isn't that a proof that Ari successfully gamed her?

Finally, in regards to their marital problems toward the end, the writers have to complicate it somehow. Smooth sailings all the way make for boring TV. Besides, the female demographic is more valuable (as they are more easily persuaded by advertisers) so the last season in almost its entirely was written by a FEMALE WRITER named Ally Musika:

"Who? Yeah...She has been writing almost every episode for the past few seasons. Word on the street is she has been banging the creator of Entourage, Doug Ellin, for the past few years. Makes sense since she rose so quickly from being a production assistant on the show. I hate to come off as a misogynist, but this is a show about guys, for GUYS. Err...WAS a show for guys. Ever since Ally came on aboard, all the guys have been emasculated by minor female characters:

- Ari and his female assistant, Lizzie
- Ari and his wife
- Turtle and Jamie Lynn Singler
- Turtle and Alex, the Tequila lady
- E and Sloan

Every guy who started watching this show wanted to live vicariously through Vincent Chase and be a movie star with his friends along for the ride. It used to be about chasing women, cars, being macho, being a celebrity, adventure, and all the things that made it appealing to its key demographic: GUYS. Now, it's a show that's all about feelings, emotional, complicated relationships, and crap no one who loved the show when it first started cares about."

And funny thing, Wikipedia entry for Ally Musika states:

"Ally Musika... is a writer and Executive producer known for ruining the HBO television series Entourage."

^^^ Ha, that makes sense that there is a woman behind all this. She is pretty hot though, I hope that Doug Ellin got many good bangs out of this.

Entourage is filled with prime American beef. And even other older characters are hot.

Namely I think of Dana Gordon (Constance Zimmer b. 1970):

And Amanda Daniels (Carla Gugino b. 1971; also the same actress who plays Hank Moody's sexy lawyer in Californication)

Terrible wife IMO, constantly nagging her husband and stressing him out when he has big things on his plate.

Looks wise, she is super hot IMO. The reason there is so few ladies 40+ that look like her isn't because she's a supermodel or anything. It's because so few Western women work out, dress well, do their hair and makeup, and even give two shits about how they look.

Mrs. Ari is a cunt and Ari is your classic CEO-big money type; alpha at work, beta everywhere else.

Love the fine extras that they get on the show, and I liked the show when it was about guys hanging out and getting pussy; it got lame when it became all about bitches running them (as someone above me showed).

She's hot for her age (which does show), but come on, no woman is perfect. She has a slightly mannish face too.

This and also in the last season she almost divorces Ari and forces him to turn into a heel-licking beta for the sake of their marriage [Image: cry.gif] and that was a huge disappointment from my favorite character.
