I was just gonna post to say this. I remember Roosh said he took back what he said about Bruno Mars after his "Locked Out of Heaven" song started flooding the airwaves, and that track is pretty fresh imo (albeit overplayed). But "When I was your Man" is up there with "Grenade" as some of the sappiest, most pathetic shit I have ever heard. Listening to it every time I turn on the radio after taking the red pill is just upsetting. It's weird because I can't find it in me to hate on some of the other stuff mentioned here (i.e. Tal Bachman, Matchbox 20) since I grew up with it. Hell, everything I see or revisit now appears "beta" through the red pill lens. I guess when it comes to certain things, I'm just biased and my nostalgia trumps whatever "alpha" mentality I have now as an adult, lol

To his credit, Justin Bieber was still a teenager (14? 15?) when he came out with that. Most of us probably still had that naivete and head-over-heels mentality towards girls at that age. The real damage was to Ludacris' rep for participating in that song. This is the same dude who was talking about having hoes in different area codes only several years prior. It's amazing how far some guys can fall off after selling out. There's just no going back after that for Luda, I'm afraid.

As I mentioned in some posts back, I think Ryan Adams has the best songs that border on beta/sensitive signer songwriter vibe, but have the twist that takes them into a non-beta direction.

I have been trying to learn this song, "If I am a Stranger,' which epitomizes this tension. It isn't "I will be there for you..." but rather "I will try and be there for you/What if I can...what if I can't."

Don't know how many of these guys are actually beta. If you find yourself with a knack for writing catchy pop music, doesn't take much to realise the fastest way to fame and fortune is via this kind of shit, sending girls doe eyed the world over. Bruno Mars is a young guy with hit after hit, now rolling in cash and no doubt (if straight) swimming in poosy. Not stupid. Little known: he also wrote Cee Lo's 'Fuck You'.

James Blunt is another one. Horrific music, but well known for plowing through hot women, including the odd supermodel. He was also in reconnaisance in the UK army and while in Kosovo in the 90s he stared down both the Russian military and defied US General Wesley Clark in the same move. Not very beta.

lol. Boys of summer is a reference to baseball not his girl getting train run on her ass. The song's all about nostalgia and growing up and realising that what he thought was true teenage love is just a summer fling that will be over soon.
