To get 40% boost in free testosterone you'd need to take 80mg of elemental zinc(80kg male), so how much were you guys getting?

Zinc sulfate contains 23% elemental zinc

So 20 turkish wrestlers, all of whom were 19, experienced 40'% increases at 80mg of zinc daily over a period of 4 weeks? That's a small and specific group that was studied. I wouldn't make any conclusions based on that data.

You are right it's a small and specific sample but how much variance do you think there can be here? I'd be shocked if more then 5-10%...

Guy above who takes 30mg would need 20x that dose to get that 40% test increase. Even if he only needs 50% less(no way) he still has to up his dosage by 10x [Image: smile.gif]

And let's just ignore all this, testosterone is far from everything when it comes to libido - Differences between someone with 400ng/dl and someone with 600ng/dl are extremely small when it comes to libido.

Here is what I take, 2x 50mg of Pinc. zinc AKA ~34mg of actual elemental zinc per day... And being aware of placebo I never experienced any of the benefits most people here claim [Image: smile.gif] I still think it's beneficial(that's why I take it duuh) but slight improvements only, far from magical fixeverything.jpg supplement.

I am still in the 30mg daily dose. I cannot feel a real change in terms of horniness but I stopped loosing hair, so I´ve got that going on for me which is nice.

Q: Can you take 30mg of ZINC for a long period of time? I have been doing it for several months now. Only benefits

For someone reason I get really weird dreams whenever I take Mens' 1 a day pro. I dont think I had the issue with just standard 1 a day so something in the Pro is causing me sleeping issues. When I do finally fall asleep have weird dreams.

I have no idea what the variance to "normal" populations would be, but I hypothesize that any gain that these people get is smaller because they are already close to their genetic potential due to strict diet and exercise. Just an educated guess, of course. I don't think I could say either way.

Been taking optimum nutrition's zma for 2 weeks now. Been able to see a few changes such as a better beard and I feel my workouts are better these days.

Also my dreams are seriously off the charts these days. I've been having such vivid dreams. Sometimes I'm not a even in the dream. It'll have random characters following some crazy story, almost like a movie. Never had dreams like these, ever!

Remember if you can't handle zinc supplements you can always just eat pumpkin seeds.

That is a great company to get supplements from. Only problem is you can't but them online. They offer some on amazon but otherwise you have to find a doctor or someone who sells them.

I've worked with a few doctors. One in particular who uses a quantum testing machine. He actually tests you over the phone. ( I know it sounds like pure quackery) And maybe it is. But when he tested me he told me things that no one else would know unless you saw my blood work or ultrasounds.

Interesting thread guys. I'm browsing for Zinc online at the moment and I noticed they have all these different types of zinc. So far I've come across the following types:

- Zinc Gluconate
- Zinc Chelate
- Zinc Citrate
- Zinc Picolinate

Don't know if there are more types than this, but what type would you guys say has had the most effect in comparison with the effects described in the OP?

Chelate is the generic term so you don't know exactly what you're getting in that one. Metallic elements are chelated (bound) to an organic compound in order to be absorbed by the body.

I've heard that citrate is one of the faster-absorbing ones, at least with regards to magnesium supplements.

If only you knew how bad things really are.

I had been having a dull ache in my right side for a few months. Once in a while it would have a sharp stabbing pain. I thought it was my liver and was a result of drinking too much.

Without telling this guy anything he told me my gallbladder was filled with stones. Over the phone he did this as a conduit was hooked up to the machine. He told me to get a product called phosfood. IT worked. My right side is better and I am slowly breaking up stones.

Placebo? There's a slight chance.

Did he just guess? Maybe.

Either way he helped me and he prescribes great remedies. The test is free over the phone, you can buy the supplements from him or get them yourself.

I am now a believer and he is someone I talk to every few months.

How he does it? I really do not know.

I had a few questions regarding this posts. I've read trough a big part of this thread and checked what would be available to me in this country. I came to the conclusion that Now Foods Opti L-zinc is the one (with copper) that's available to me (via shipping as all dutch shops seem to be out of stock).

Now I did read about the dangers of too much zinc over a long period of time, but I also read that most of the 30mg capsules only contain 20% elementary zinc. If that's the case, should I take 5 capsules of this supplement?

I'll start with a 30mg capsule at first, just to see what my reaction to the supplement will be.

I started taking zinc yesterday. GNC 30 mg chelated zinc gluconate (the brand choices seemed limited in the few pharmacies I checked here in Sofia, also bought some from Solgar a few days ago but it turned out to be the annoying type of tablets that you have to let dissolve for 20-30 minutes in the mouth).
While I've read conflicting information about how much of it is elemental zinc, the label says the "numbers are elemental". Also the tablets are relatively large, something I would estimate to at least a couple of hundred mg, so it seems to make sense if the 30 mg is indeed referring to the volume of elemental zinc.

Looking forward to seeing if there will be any notable effects, although I'm also naturally very skeptical when I read extremely enthusiastic posts making simple nutritional supplements sound like a potent wonder drug (only legal supplement I've ever tried, and still take, that actually feels like it's having a notable effect is creatine. Forgetting to take my multivitamins or omega-3 for a while doesn't make me feel a damn bit different, although I still take those two on a daily basis on a better-safe-than-sorry account).
Not claiming any lies from anyone - could be true, could be placebo based on great expectations, could be partially related to other concurrent life changes.
Anyway, reading info on websites of various reputability does make it sound like there could be some positive effects, including as estrogen inhibitor, which alone might lead to multiple positive effects.

I heard about Zinc's effects on the immune system, apparently taking it daily reduces colds - although the studies seemed to mention using zinc lozenges as opposed to swallowing zinc tablets down in one, which is how I take them.

As mentioned a number of times upthread (including by yours truly), you should be taking OptiZinc, a formulation that contains copper. That is the best way to ensure that your copper levels stay sufficiently high.

I was eating zinc daily 50mg for two months. In the beginning I felt more energy, more aggression, more determination and I was more motivated to do my workout. However my acne got worse so I stopped. The days after I stopped I slept around 12hours a day and was tired all the time.
I'm sure zinc is good for the testosterone however for me it's not worth it do to the acne. Now I'm back to normal sleeping hours and normal energy level so think my testosterone has balanced out.

I've gotten to the point where I have a hard time sleeping if I don't take my nightly optizinc. I wonder if that's just psychosomatic.

Also I'm not sure if this is due to the zinc or my overall increased health from where I was before, but I really cannot remember the last time I got sick. I remember about a year ago I got some cold symptoms, very light sniffling, a sore throat, maybe a little cough here and there, but we're talking 2 days max. It's been years since I've had a full blown illness that put me out of commission for days on end.

So, I'm sitting at my computer reading roosh five minutes after a dose of ZMA... and I just fucking breathed out smoke! Like some sort of dragon shit. Scared the absolute shit out of me... I thought I was about to spontaneously combust! I flipped my laptop over thinking it may of been a NiCad battery but nope.

A few google searches and saw its an uncommon side affect. Anyone else experience this?

Feel kinda shitty right now... bad taste in mouth and stomach ache.
