Moldova in August

I'm planning a good one month trip and I think Moldova sounds fun. I spent 2 days in Tiraspol last year and enjoyed it.

Anyone spent some time in the country?

I'm thinking of visiting the countryside a lot as well as the cities.

Any recommendations? Do you guys think this is a good place to spent August in or are there other spots in the region?

I wouldn't go there in August. Too hot, the cities are deserted and all the dyevs are either abroad working, back in their villages or at the coast. Best time to go is early September and Tiraspol would be better than Chisnau. The weather is perfect and the universities are back. Students will be out partying since there are no exams.

I spent time in Unghen which is near the Romanian border, pleasant enough town with a night club club and a couple of small bars but not much else for entertainment. I wouldn't recommend it ( it meaning smaller Moldovan towns ) if your aim is lots of bangs. The thing with Moldova is that outside of Kishinev it's pretty brutal, you can really see that it's Europe's poorest country. I didn't rate the women in the third tier towns as being overly hot either tbh.

Tiraspol was another matter entirely. Clean, safe, cheap and with some great women. If you went there and got an 'in' with a social circle you could meet some great looking devs.

Yeah, sounds like a good idea. Perhaps I'll spend a week there to check it out before commiting a longer stay. Make some contacts, figure out public transport, gauge the friendliness of the people, etc.
