Awesome Places to see in Thailand before I Go?

Hey dudes, been in BKK for 6 months and done pretty much nothing except work, eat and party along Sukhumvit, RCA and Khao San.

Feel like I'll regret not seeing/doing anything else cool while I'm here.

I came 4 years ago and did Samui, Full moon, Phuket, Phi Phi and Chiang Mai.

Wondering what y'all think I should do in my last 2-3 weeks before I probably go back to europe?

I'd like a change of pace from BKK. Sun, relaxedness, friendly thai people going about their daily lives. More of a "travel" experience. Of course I'd like to go out a bit and bang a girl or two, either farang or thai.

Ideally a couple of places I can just fly to and back for 2-3 days.

I dont know anything about places other than where I've been. I liked samui and phi phi, considering returning to one of those maybe. But where else is good? Other islands? other city/town? Any thoughts?

For a historical / touristy thing I would say check out the Sukhothai Ruins in Sukhothai. Won't find too many girls there, but worth the trek to check out for the sights aspect. Very impressive ruins. I would recommend. renting a bicycle to see the whole sight. There is nothing else to do around there and limited accommodation. I think that they run bus tours there out of Bangkok which is probably the best bet.

There are two options, the mountains in the north or the beaches in the south.
If you want a cool relaxed place I can recommend Railay, you can get there easily by plane to Surat Thani

Best fun I had in Thailand was riding a scooter from Bangkok up to the Burmese border ( Three Pagoda Pass ) in Kanchanaburi province. It's an awesome trip where you can stop off along the way at the Bridge over the Kwai,Hellfire Pass museum, numerous waterfalls,Interesting little towns like Sanghklaburi and if the border is still open ( I think it closed since I visited ) you can ride over into Burma for the day which was a weird place. I did not see another foreigner on the three day trip, awesome experience.

first thing that came to my mind when I read that you'd been in thailand 4 years:
-just go partying the first week, bang a few thai girls.
1-2 weeks to:
-game them for a few days. say you feel like a holiday and want to take each one. tell her what you told us.
-let her impress you with a trip idea, go with the girl who has the best one (or use the best idea with the best girl)
It's their country. They'll have better ideas than we will. If you suspect this will be too romantic-weekend-getaway type deal for you...just get a room near walkingstreet for a week in Pattaya?

If you're in BKK and don't want long journeys but fancy some history and culture then go to Kanchanaburi (2hrs at most away from BKK by train / bus / car) it's got the river kwai (really picturesque), death railway, tons of WW2 history (museums, graveyard, hell fire pass etc), tiger temples, bamboo rafting, elephant trekking, zoo, kayaking, boat trips and the nearbye Erewan national park and waterfalls which are stunning and a must see. Add to that there's some nightlife on the tourist strip + bars and clubs for locals in the main part of town, it's cheap and it's a beautiful, peaceful and fun little place. Then from there take a minvan for 1-2hrs to Ayutthaya which is the old Thai capital and has lots of Khmer temples (similar to Angkor Wat in Cambodia but not as spectacular). Or / and Sangkhlaburi which is near to the Burmese border, very chilled out, very local and Thai like, people going about their traditional lives as you've said you're looking for.

He said he'd been here 6 months not 4 years and he wants a more traditional travel experience. Walking Street in Pattaya is a human zoo and a freak show, it's not in anyway Thai.

Your idea is good in theory but a lot of Thai girls have less of a clue about their country than most tourists, they rarely seem to go anywhere (due to lack of money, no time off work or whatever). A trip to Chaing Mai to them is like going to a foreign county. I thought they'd be able to take me or suggest loads of places but every time they just suggested the same old boring tourist traps or wanted to go somewhere I knew I didn't want to go (i.e, Patayya, I hate that place).
