Old Guy in the Club - what's the problem?

Man, this vintage thread sure has a high strike-through-name ratio. I wonder if any of these old guys are still alive, or if "Nursing Home Game - What's the problem?" would be a thread if they weren't banned?

I'm not sure if there is a thread with a higher percentage of banned forum members and guys who simply stopped posting. O.P. was a female troll and had the perfect forum name for a female troll.

I'm 41 and pulling women at clubs here in their 20s. I've probably been going out to clubs for the past 25 years starting at all ages lol. It's basically the only place I've ever gamed women.....I don't day game or do online either.

As I get older it seems clubbing keeps getting better and better. Women overall here at clubs to me look hotter than in the 90s. Women are working out more than they did back then.

It's almost a game within a game to see how long I can keep up with these hot 20 somethings without being seen as that "old guy at the club" I've seen sometimes that women have openly avoided like the bubonic plague. Lol.

A lot of the time they approach me....sometimes they blatantly put my hands on their tits when we dance.

I don't have any special game words wise....I'm 6'5" and I tend to stand out. That's what works. Don't drink or do drugs. That helps me look youthful.

I don't think I'll ever stop going out to clubs. Addicted.

Im mid 30s and im right there with you! I found out this year that I can still pull 19 year olds. Its unreal.

The problem is compounded that even since 2012, clubs have only gotten worse (speaking about the US, but maybe true elsewhere - including Canada).

It was right around that time when smartphones began to become ubiquitous, and women were still, for the moment, going to clubs to meet guys on occasion. Now if they go at all it's to get free drinks and hang with their bunch of girlie friends - all the guys they could want they've already lined up via Tinder.

Couple it with bad DJs, too-loud music (a deliberate strategy) and overpriced drinks and it's the last place you'd want to be to score at any age.

How many threads do we need to remind people that clubs suck, period? [Image: wtf.jpg]

I'm 33, and I find I get better more polite treatment in clubs than I did when I was in my 20's. I liked in DC after graduation and have similar experiences to all of you, hostility, excessive concern about status, general rudeness form all directions in the nightlife out there. I left DC and moved south so its hard to tell if better treatment is due to my age, my improvements since that time, or the region.

Sometimes it feels like everyone is a princess looking for a rich daddy. It is hard to pull if you cant convince them that you are one of those rich daddy types. I'm lower middle class at the moment. I can play daddy decently enough though, just act like you know whats out there, whats good, what you like. Being familiar with your area. the style of music in the venue, the fun shit to do in the region, all of it helps. I'm bad keeping up with new things, have to work at staying current.

Why is that I don't remember the music being so gotdamn loud in my younger day? It's essentially impossible to correspond with chicks unless you're strictly using non-verbal game on the dance floor.

I have to wear ear plugs in clubs, which makes corresponding even more difficult...

I'm pretty sure the music isn't any louder than it used to, but young and unspoiled ears can adapt better. Which is of course a double edged sword because eventually you will get damage to your ears.

When you start having trouble maneuvering around busy night clubs with your walker you know that you're the old guy in the club.

I'm not so sure about that, because in Cape May, oxygen tanks and ambulances are the norm in bars in clubs. It just makes it easier to spot the college aged Russian and other European girls who are there to work for the summer.

If you want to be an older guy in the clubs then try a country club. They tend to have a slightly older crowd. And I don't agree with the age ranges: mid 30s guys still get laid a lot there in bigger cities...plenty of mid 20's women are out trying to live up the sex in the city lifestyle they have in their heads and will be more than willing to sleep with a well put together guy 30-35.

Being an older guy I was triggered by this thread, I am now sitting in my safe space.

I got to much self respect to be chasing little girls in a loud kindergarten club.

I go where there are grown ups, and chase classy women that know how to fuck properly and where my awesome word game can be heard.

even if you're cheap you can still go to the nicer spots - just limit your alcohol intake to a couple drinks max. heck, if you're 40 you probably shouldnt be slamming down 7 drinks anyways

At 33 I already feel like the "old Guy in the Club" at many Washington, DC area clubs & bars. Having to compete with college frat boys and their drunken, extremely loud behavior is a challenge indeed ( I used to be one myself) so a few years back I had to do some hard thinkin' after one too many night coming back home to my "left hand". Since turning 30 I have switched strictly to lounges and hotel bars...No point in wasting money at the next hot spot only to be ignored by barely 21 yr old chicks. I've realized one thing and that is that style and money only carries one so far, some chicks just don't like old guys and although I don't look bad they always ask me how old I am in a negative way. Thus my motto is "adjust and persevere"...Until turning 30 I never realized how fun hotel lounges could be and most importantly in a forsaken city like DC they even have better ratios and friendlier women than the clubs.

Three issues:

1. DC

2. 33 is young

3. You need to find the young girls that like older guys. They are the ones you couldn't date when you were 21. Because they were with older guys.

Look, the thing is this: if you are 33 and cannot pull girls who are 23 or so that is your problem, you cannot blame that on you age. If they ask you about your age something is off with your style. Or maybe with the way you talk, maybe your vibe is off. But purely from an age standpoint there shouldn't be any problem at all - at least with 80% of girls.

As I mentioned above, you're not imagining it, the music IS louder than it used to be. Club owners realized if people can't easily talk to each other, they tend to buy more drinks. Good strategy while it worked, but club attendance is going down a lot of places partly because of that, but also because of smartphones. Clubs suck.

There are a few age old counters to the loud music.

If the place has outside. Take the girl outside to cool off and talk.

If no outside have her lean into you and speak into your ear. Have her lean in when you speak into her ear. Put your arm around her on the small on her back or opposite hip

Or find a couch/table somewhere away from the dance floor so a little quieter.

That too - when was the last time you saw a couch in a club that wasn't roped off with a $600 bottle requirement to access it? Pass.

Roosh covered the decline of clubs back in February with a pretty solid article, as did another ROK writer.

Well, I have been clubbing for over 20 years, mostly in Finland and the loudness depends on the place of course... There definitely were very loud places back in the day, but of course it's difficult to compare.

I don't think that it's brand new science that loud music increases drink consumption... This is something that was known a long time ago. And for that reason most clubs stopped playing slow tunes altogether, whilst earlier in the 1990s it was common to have slow songs every now and then... Which provided a very convenient way to approach women and get in close contact with them for a shy (beta) guy like me. [Image: smile.gif]

That's great to hear! I remember I used to laugh at the Chris Rock "old guy at the club" quip during his stand up back in 97 and figured I'd be long out of the club scene and that it'd never be me.

20 years later I realize it isn't such a bad thing and being this way was the best thing that could've happened to me. All the girls from back then i wanted and didn't get or was rejected by are "done" physically (a lot abused drugs/alcohol and + they've had 1 ot 2 kids and never worked out at the gym) or mentally (Divorced/separated, raising kids on their own).

And I didn't know how long I'd be alive or how I'd look in my 40s, but I'd have never thought as a 40+ guy I could go to a club and fit in with these 20 somethings and not feel out of place.

Theres this one spot in town when I hit.....I just go ga ga at the looks of these 20 somethings. There are almost 0 out of shape women there. Women clubbing in the 90s weren't doing crossfit, yoga, pilates like these girls I see now. I get so invigorated seeing (and the odd time banging) women 12+ years my junior. I even almost scored a cute girl a month ago exactly half my age that was kissing me all over on the floor while dancing until her bitchy mother hen friend dragged her away.

I don't know when i'll be deemed "out of place" due to being a grandpa looks/age wise......but i hope to do this as long as I live if possible, lol

I've been the old guy in the club for years, not because of age (but that's coming now) but because I love clubs but am absolutely not suited for them.

I am not high energy and don't dance so I just go and stand around.

I enjoy being there in my own way. It's not the optimal for me for picking up and many will call you out in it, but I don't care.

I'll just do the same in my 40s and 50s.

No they weren't, but they ate less and had more physical exercise during their everyday lives.

Women were much slimmer in the 1990s than now, universally, around the globe pretty much.

Of course fitness etc. is a niche that didn't exist in the 1990s. But only a minority of women are interested in that.
