Funnyman does his job, feminists up in arms

Daniel Tosh of Tosh.0 makes a joke about rape during a comedy show, and a bitch loses her mind. The relevant details:

http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/11/showbiz/da...index.html

Quote:Quote:

"She claims, "Tosh [started] making some very generalizing, declarative statements about rape jokes always being funny, how can a rape joke not be funny, rape is hilarious."

The audience member felt "provoked" and says she yelled out, "Actually, rape jokes are never funny!"

Continues the account: "After I called out to him, Tosh paused for a moment. Then, he says, 'Wouldn't it be funny if that girl got raped by like, 5 guys right now? Like right now? What if a bunch of guys just raped her...' and I, completely stunned and finding it hard to process what was happening but knowing I needed to get out of there, immediately nudged my friend, who was also completely stunned, and we high-tailed it out of there ... I should probably add that having to basically flee while Tosh was enthusing about how hilarious it would be if I was gang-raped in that small, claustrophobic room was pretty viscerally terrifying..."

Tosh tweeted: "The point I was making before I was heckled is there are awful things in the world but you can still make jokes about them," then added: "On a lighter note tonight's new episode of Tosh.0 will be featuring clowns."

My take

The outcry over this is probably the most fucked up, overwrought thing since that beta nerd who hit on that female atheist in an elevator that one time. When will people get that laughter does not equal approval? Just because people laugh at jokes about rape does not mean they are normalizing or approving of rape. Comedians make dead baby jokes, holocaust jokes, slavery jokes, etc all the time—does anyone really believe they are mainstreaming or approving of those things? To ask the question is to answer it.

If I could change one thing about this, it would be the 3rd grade cognitive schemas these people are still operating under—that laughter = approval.

Grow the fuck up.

And all this, of course, stands in stark contrast to when men are subjected to sexual violence. The cunt in California who chopped off her husbands dick while he was sleeping because he wanted a divorce? She was applauded by Sharon Osbourne and her fellow bitches on The View.

I don't have much sympathy for Tosh. He's a vaguely annoying whiny prick, a passive aggressive hipster type who likes to play both sides. "I'm gonna quote a bunch of racist jokes, and then disavow it by calling the people who said them racist. But still get all the laughs for being 'racist. '" Bill Burr, Adam Carolla, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle are all far more talented and far more authentic. Tosh is for SWPLs who deep down get off on his off-color humor but will bitch out anyone who isn't a comedian who says something 'offensive.' Can't stand those types.

The ladies REALLY need to check out Corey Holcomb's newest comedy special on Showtime called "Your Way Ain't Working." It was taped in Vegas at the Mandalay Bay. His whole routine is just straight destroying everything women say and do and think. There's a poster next to the stage that says "Cheat on the Woman You Love in Style." He straight CRUSHES bitches in this routine.

Haha, sounds like a nice antidote to that unbearable twat Steve Harvey.

Edit: Should add Joe Rogan to my list of comics above.

This PC stuff is getting way out of hand. I blame Tosh for buying into her frame that he was being insensitive.

What happened to comedians that put hecklers in their place like Jimmy Carr:

That sounds like a closet racist description.

Do people really think this guy is funny?

Gilbert Gottfried had a pretty good take on it too

http://edition.cnn.com/2012/07/16/opinio...tosh-joke/

"If you have never in your life seen a comedian perform, here are the instructions: If a comedian tells a joke that you find funny, you laugh. If he tells a joke you do not find funny, don't laugh. Or you could possibly go as far as groaning or rolling your eyes. Then you wait for his next joke; if that's funny, then you laugh. If it's not, you don't laugh -- or at very worst, you can leave quietly. This is the way going to see a comedian has worked for centuries"

Upgrayedd. Which he spells thusly, with two D's, as he says, "for a double dose of this pimping".

Commedienne Sandra Bernhard got in hot water for joking that Sarah Palin risked being "gang-raped by big black brothers if she visited Manhattan". Then she denied saying it. I saw her original statements on YouTube, but after her denial the video was edited to remove those comments. So all the media links showed the sanitized video. Pretty slick. Too bad nobody saved the original video. But her original comments were widely reported.

This reminds me of episode 3 "The Benefactor" in season 2 of Mad Men, where that comedian makes fun of an (at that time in the USA) rare and early specimen of land whale. He later had to apologize, although from a business standpoint, the person he was mocking was his employer's wife, so I think an apology was warranted.

Mocking the audience, though... duh!

Why are women, feminists especially, so terrified of rape. They live in perpetual fear expecting nothing more than getting raped. I find it kind of funny because living in fear of rape is just acknowledging that males hold more power than they do. The male dominance they squak about is just created by themselves. They are so insecure they oppress themselves.

He's pretty funny though. This Tosh guy is a little bitch who needs to get a different job. It's kind of funny how the only people I know who find his show entertaining are females...

Corey Holcomb is fucking hilarious, and a feminists worst nightmare. If you take your girl to a show like this, and she actually laughs, consider her a winner.

*** I find it funny that the majority of feminists and other women who are terrified of rape are normally the ones who put out the easiest and most often. Ironic, wouldn't you say?
