If you want to be short, do gymnastics.

If you want to be tall, play basketball.

That makes as much sense as saying, "If you want to look like a 1-in-1,000 sprinter, sprint."

Let's readdress the point. 40 lbs?

If you sprint you will likely tear your Achilles or develop severe plantar faciitis. Just get in shape in a healthy fashion. Jog for 20-30 mins a day you'll lose weight. Up that to 30-40... Next month cycle down stream to 20 mins but run faster.

Once you are in better shape you can sculpt your body. Let's get into good fitness then worry about being great. Everyone can be great but it does not happen in a flash.

Create good habits that force you to become better. Worry about landing on the moon once you can clearly see the stars.

Generally things as "fast as possible" lead to injury.
