So I started casually watching this show around April and I just recently finished the whole thing. Now I'm back to watching it all over again.

Man is this show funny. As a die-hard Office fan, I never thought another mockumentary show could pull off a similar atmosphere with memorable characters and the whole 'business as usual' fuckin-around evironment. I love it; that's what makes a go-to show a go-to show.

My favorite episode is Orangie is Pretty Fuckin Tough. Bubbles' reaction when he finds out Cory and Jacob went to the grocery store to find a pet fish. Good god.

Anyone who's monitoring this thread needs to hop on if you have a Netflix. Don't be intimidated by the white trash look of it. Give it time. I can't relate to smoking, doing drugs or being poor and yet this show is now a favorite of mine.

I moved back to Halifax recently after a ten year absense, I sort of forgot what the people are like back here but they are hilarious, especially the lower class ones. A lot of people here say really funny shit in public and they're super down to earth and friendly. I haven't run into any of the Trailer Park Boys yet but it'll probably happen soon they all still live around here.

John Dunsworth (aka Jim Lahey) died at 71 yesterday:

Great actor considering he was completely sober in real life.

One of the very few worthwhile modern Canadian cultural products-- or worthwhile modern Canadian anything-- is the Trailer Park Boys. The dry look at the foibles of working class white Canadians was funny and while it was somewhat mocking it was never mean or hateful. Unlike the rest of Canadian media which constantly does nothing but tell white Canadians how worthless they are.

God bless you John Dunsworth for the laughter your skillful comedic acting brought us and may your soul rest in very deserved peace.

RIP

Sad to see Dunsworth died... I thought he did a great job this past season. I wonder how they will replace his character. I could see the police getting more involved next season since they already tie in with Randy.

I was shocked to hear about this, there was a counselor in college that looked exactly like him except he had a PhD and didn't use shit metaphors.

RIP man! May you have liquor in the trailer park in the sky Mr Lahey!
