I saw Tesla's documentary and i'm wondering when someone is going to create a machine that will give us free electricity. Tesla was about to do it but the rich people at the time wouldn't let him...
There's no such thing as "free electricity". What there may be is a cheaper way of producing electricity, or some efficient way of converting chemical / mechanical energy into electricity. I don't buy the story that Tesla was held back by the rich people: if Tesla had indeed developed such technology, there would have been plenty of people interested in funding. But not all problems have solutions...
One of my favourite bloggers is the Dilbert cartoonist, Scott Adams. Anyway - he has recently become interested in a company that claims to have found a way to generate lots of 'free' electricity from the ions in air.
Scott Adams says it is probably a scam of some sort. But he also feels that if this company has made a genuine breakthrough - it would still feel like a scam. Since scams and breakthroughs look identical in their beginning stages.
So - as an experiment - he has decided to follow closely to see what happens with the company. Even though he is sure it will probably turn out to be a scam.
You can read his posts here. And don't forget to check out his blog regularly - it is one of the best blogs on the net. It turns out that Scott Adams is a really interesting guy who is curious about a whole host of subjects.

As you will see from the posts above. Scott is still unsure if the company is a scam or not.
