Actually, remember my experience with american girls, I can imagine why. LOL.
When I was a teenager, I went to Floripa to my prom trip. There was some american girls and boys in my hotel. The girls were always covered, wearing that swimming suit as if they were going to a olympics session and were not in a good shape (a bit chubby) looked to us like we were whores... Maybe because they never seen such small bikinis in life. lol. (or might be our shape either... lol).
The guys tried to get along with us and it was nice. Someday only our girls were in the pool playing a pool fight (don't know how u name that, here u call "briga de galo") when the two american boys arrived, and stayed in a corner staring us and saying "OMG...OMG..."... hahahah. Can u imagine that? those two boys who had never seen a brazilian bikini surrounded buy pleanty of girls in a pool?
Those girls in the blog may have not showed themselves properly, and even dressed properly for a brazilian nightlife. The rule here is "dress your best, nothing less!" I'm not saying to go out naked, but there are ways to be sexy without being a whore. And that's why foreigners go nuts and brazilians didn't look at them.

I think the dressing code might explain their unsuccessful run. In Brazil, girls from the US will be outnumbered by much better bodies and their "western" appeal to the local crowd is not near as in other countries less used to tourism all year long.

Besides, no matter where, US girls, as a rule, have an amazingly bad dress sense.
