Okay guy's this could make for some interesting conversation, an Oregon woman just won a civil lawsuit for $900,000, that's right (6 zeros), in a case against a man she alleged gave her herpes.

First of all, I don't know how the fuck the guy can ever pay that shit off, unless he's a millionaire. Second, the guy is 69 year old, but if this happened to a guy in his 20 or 30's, would he be doomed to be in debt and have his wages garnished the rest of his life, to pay this shit off?
I'm not advocating people going around and not disclosing their STD's... But, I don't see how a person can sue for that much money over herpes. I mean, right off the bat 1 in 4 American women already has it, and a huge portion of people carry the virus and don't even know it because they haven't had an outbreak of symptoms.
Furthermore, herpes, isn't really that big a deal in the grand scheme of things, it's not life threatening, it's just a bout of unpleasant cold sores, that usually will only last a couple weeks if you take anti-viral meds. I could maybe fathom someone getting awarded $9,000 in a case, but $90,000?
Reading shit like this makes me think it might be time to start thinking about moving out of the U.S. All it takes is one wrong move, and the system can fuck you for life.
