How to lose my gut?!

I've no problem putting on size and whatever but everyone in my family has a belly. Im playing it down to genetics but are there certain rules or foods or whatever i should live by to have a flat stomach?

At the gym i only compound exercise but my diet isnt the best. what should i cut to keep off my love handles? Bitches be like ahhhhhh!

Dude do a search.

Your question is ridiculous: "my diet isnt the best" and "what should i cut to keep off my lave handles".

Answer: Calories in - Calories out = net weight change. Either decrease calories in and/or increase calories out. Its that fucking simple! Read one of the many posts on intermittent fasting for one good way to reduce calories in.

To add to this, even though I shouldn't. On lots of people, myself included, love handles are just about the last thing to go. If you've got some floppy love handles, you probably have several tens of pounds to lose before they disappear. I'm around 12% right now and still have some handles.

If you have a gut and your diet is shit, then it's common sense you're going to have one.

Everyone wants to have it all.

Realise to have a good body you need to treat it well, don't eat shit and exercise...but people still eat McDonalds 7 days a week, don't work out, have 3 hours a sleep a night and then ask 'How can I get rid of this?' Compromises have to be made.

Just eat to lose fat, and that fat loss will include your stomach/love handles.

If you need help planning a diet to lose fat, there a bunch of different ways but you need to have a caloric deficit allowing for periodic refeeds, while keeping protien intake high, and getting enough fats.

Keep protien at 0.8-1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight. Take your bodyweight and multiply it by 14-16, and then subtract 500. Use that for your daily caloric intake. If you're not losing weight, lower calories by a few hundred more. If you're losing a drastic amount strength/muscle, raise your caloric intake by a few hundred. If you're losing weight, but also losing a *little* strength, that might just be something you have to accept. Just adjust as you see fit.

After that, deciding what your meal frequency is, whether to go low carb or not (I don't like the ideal of going low fat), paleo, or whatever is trendy now, is up to you, but in the grand scheme of thing I don't think it's that important. It can help (it can slo make things needlessly difficult), but you should be following the guidelines above first.

No carbs or fat at night. No alcohol. Go to bed with an empty stomach. No fast food or processed food.

You belly will get smaller.

Diet is more important then cardio!

I've been doing this bicycle pedaling exercise for a while that shrunk my bell down. I don't
have a 6 pack or anything like that. But no beer belly sticking out.

Basically lay on your back on the floor. Hands behind your head. Feet 6 inches off the floor.
Just alternate your legs in and out as if you're pedaling a bicycle. Knee to chest then extend
all the way out but keep your feet 6 inches off the ground.

Do as many as you can til you run out of steam and drop your feet. Take a break for 10-15 minutes.
Keep count of your reps. Do 3-4 sets everyday. Once you get used to it add some ankle weights.

I could do with loosing a bit of a beer belly as well but I don't know how you guys can go to bed on an empty stomach, I can't sleep if I'm hungry. As of today I've cut out the carbs in an effort to lose some weight / my gut and I've been hungry all day regardless of what I've eaten.

calorie defecit is the only option. anybody who tells you doing situps or ab exercises without diet either doesn't know any better or is trying to sell you something.

Agreed. I should have said - "don't go to bed stuffed". Or, "don't over-eat before bed". Just eat enough so that you will not be hungry and you will be able to fall asleep. I try to eat about 2 hours before I go to bed so that I am not hungry late at night. If I really have to eat before bed I try to have fruit.

More protein should take care of your hunger. Chicken, Fish, steak, eggs, beans, nuts, etc.

You can eat carbs, just limit them at night.

Some people are exceptions to the rule. Some people work out so much that it doesn't really matter when they eat. Some people have unique genetics.

But, for the average guy with average genetics trying to lose his gut, not eating alot at night is probably a good idea no?

Unless, its a bunch of clean food and he is gonna get up in the morning and workout like a madman for 2 hours. In which case, you're right, you can probably eat at night and not worry about it.

I think my advice is more for people who get up in the morning and go to work.
