Hall of Fame rollout

Each sub-forum will have its own hall of fame. Within that hall of fame will be a sticky where you can recommend threads.

To ensure that the hall of fame is cream-of-the-crop, I will max out threads there to 1% of the total. So for example, if the game forum has 4,000 threads, only 40 threads can be allowed in the hall of fame. As thread counts go up, additional threads can be admitted. I will lean to admitting threads that get more than one recommendation.

Right now the Game forum has a hall of fame. Others will follow in the next day or so.

Glad to see that we're trying another method of acknowledging great contributions. Evolve and learn.

I'm very interested in seeing how this will be implemented for the "Everything Else" forum, since this is the casual B.S. section of the RVF.

Again, props for trying something new.

Particularly awesome article/linked discussions related to game and big threads eg Romney vs Santorum.

Right now the only question is how to deal with individual hall of fame posts.

I'm thinking of each hall of fame subforum to have a thread of just these types of posts that is copied from their original place.

Nicely done. A hall of fame thread for each subforum is a smooth execution.

Just had an idea:

Re-activate the rep system for just one-week so people can quickly find their old favorite posts/threads. Then de-activate the rep system for good.

I'm loving it. I always liked the hall of fame on your blog for your most well received posts.
Now I don't have to favorite all of these great posts individually.

I was thinking today we should have like a black belt program.
Somehow you can give belt status to members who have contributed quality info/posts.

New rule: You can't recommend threads you've started!
