Everyday carry in warmer weather

How do you guys carry your EDC items without bulky pockets? Obviously if you're rolling suited down, this isn't an issue, and also isn't an issue in cooler months, but in warmer weather, I hate stuffing a bunch of things into my jeans pockets when going out at night. It just looks Costanza-ish.

My EDC when going out:
-keys - this is the biggest problem for me; when I was in NYC, I rolled out with just my front door key slipped into the coin pocket in my jeans. Now I've got car remote, car key, building entry fob, multiple building keys, discount tags.
-wallet - I use a leather card case, so this is already about as slim as it gets
-cash - no clip; I've found the clip just adds bulk and serves no useful purpose other than a little bling for others to see
-phone - usually comes out of my back pocket once I'm at a bar
-rewetting drops for contacts - I get the smallest container I can for this, which is 8ml; still a little bulky
-knife - since my state prohibits me from carrying my gun anywhere where alcohol is served, I carry a blade; this takes up a considerable amount of space in one of my front pockets (I don't carry in the back pocket because that would mean I'd have to pull it out to sit down, and might frighten the average media brainwashed chick)

I can't be the only one who has struggled with EDC while still maintaining some style. How do you guys do it?

Put your cash in your back pocket.

Ditch the knife, ditch the wallet.

When I go out, I have about $40-$60. That way if I get mugged or somehow robbed, the worst that happens to me is I lose $40-$60. If I feel like I might need more, I take one credit card that I won't be afraid to cancel should I lose.

for your discount cards, you can download an app depending on the phone you have. I use cardstar.
I also use the valet key which I stick inside my money clip, the one i have has 2 pockets

do you need your car remote to open the doors or can you open them with the key? I leave all the other keys inside the car. I dont drive a brand new fancy car so Im not too worried about it being broken into.

Thanks for the tip on Cardstar; they make it for Android, so I'll give that a shot.

I'll have to see if the alarm will arm itself without the remote, and more importantly, if the key will open the door without disarming the alarm first. I'd be ok with leaving the other keys inside the car, and that would definitely cut down on carry bulk.

What the hell does EDC stand for?

1. No need for a big knife, Dundee. Get a smaller knife.

2. Get one of those key chains that separates. Leave your house keys and other shit in your car when you go inside. Leave your car key and remote when you're not using it.

Short of carrying a man-purse, though, there's little else you can do. It sounds like you've already slimmed down the wallet and eye drops. Get LASIK.

I wouldn't ditch the knife. Ever.

Assuming you are carrying a folder with some kind of clip, try putting it in the waistband of your trousers in front of your pelvis. If you are right-handed and your belt buckle is at 12 o'clock, the knife goes about 1 o'clock. It is probably most comfortable at an angle somewhat above horizontal.

I stopped carrying a wallet years ago, i hate having bulky things in my pocket. i carry my id an debit card, one apartment key lots of pesos (the paper ones i give the coins away or buy lil treats from street vendors with them)
and my Droid but im usually holding it in my hand.

I have a smaller pocket knife i wish to carry but never really do... when i do it usually goes in my back pocket

It's not a billfold or anything, so it's pretty slim.

Yeah, I suppose I could pull out only the cards I need - driver's license, credit, ATM, etc. Kind of a hassle, but would be nice to not have that leather against my thigh on those hot humid days.

EDC = everyday carry

LOL, it's a Spyderco folder not some Rambo style hunting knife.

The separating key chain is a good idea, thanks.

Agreed. It's bad enough the state disarms us; I'm certainly not going to voluntarily disarm myself.

Yeah, it's got a clip. That's a pretty good idea, I'll try that.

Please leave the knife at home. It's going to get you in more trouble than it's worth. Cardholder with clip to keep cash falling out of my pockets and iphone. Done. I will tell you anytime I've seen a knife pulled the guy who pulled it ended up in the hospital. Think about that.

I hear you. It's a last line of defense. I have no problem swallowing my pride and verbally de-escalating the situation and, if that fails, retreating. I'd only pull it when it seems clear I am going to get FUBAR'ed if I don't. Same as when I carry my firearm.

Get one of these. Put the keys you need going out on one side. Put the rest of the keys you need but not when going out on the other. Separate.

And you're forgetting the most important item to carry when going out:

although when they're in at the club they just look like this:

"Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They're too stupid to be able to read or write. Besides they wear black, which is such a beastly color. I'm so glad I'm a Beta."

Yeah, that's what Tuthmosis was getting at. No need for the earplugs, but those sure would have come in handy during my 20s.
