Why This Generation Sucks

We've been taught to be afraid.

The ruling elite has created social institutions that have subdued young Americans and broken their spirit of resistance.

Traditionally, young people have energized democratic movements. So it is a major coup for the ruling elite to have created societal institutions that have subdued young Americans and broken their spirit of resistance to domination.

Young Americans—even more so than older Americans—appear to have acquiesced to the idea that the corporatocracy can completely screw them and that they are helpless to do anything about it. A 2010 Gallup poll asked Americans “Do you think the Social Security system will be able to pay you a benefit when you retire?” Among 18- to 34-years-olds, 76 percent of them said no. Yet despite their lack of confidence in the availability of Social Security for them, few have demanded it be shored up by more fairly payroll-taxing the wealthy; most appear resigned to having more money deducted from their paychecks for Social Security, even though they don’t believe it will be around to benefit them.

How exactly has American society subdued young Americans?

Why This Generation Sucks

Every generation has dissed the generations that come after it, going back all the way to Ancient Greece. Young people today deserve to be criticized for a lot of things, but I think the youth don't fight back crap is bullshit, take a look at what the pussy ass liberal arts chodes did at Occupy Wall Street. As for them being hopeless, I think everyone is hopeless right now, not just young people.

I think we are hopeless because we don't have any power yet. Our time will come, we are more open-minded, smarter, and we are learning. Hopefully we will not be as corrupt as our asshole older generations. I feel hopeless and don't see change coming for at least another 8-12 years. Until then, I will shore up whatever I can, try to have as many income streams as possible, and step up my hunting and gathering game ha.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

I think this is a lot of it.

I'm 24 with a 2 year degree and just under a decade of work experience in my field and I'm doing just as good, if not a little better, then people 5+ years older then me with 4 year degrees and more experience in their fields.

I look at the generation above me and see the same issues I'm having, the same pains and problems due to the same exact lies that put me in this situation. Now this doesn't scare me personally, because I've been enlightened thanks to information I've gained in places like this forum.

I think that cross-generational despair is whats really got a lot of young people in a bad spot though. They've got no one to look to. All the heroes are gone. The hero of our generation is Mark Zuckerberg, who to me, is nothing of a role model.

It is because the old guard is still in power and refuses to leave it.So all burden falls on the current generations. We have to pay for all the debt the old guard created(the generation of the baby boomers). What I see is that the current generations exhibit a passive resistance to this situation which is also passive aggressive. This is one of the reasons for the crisis-the old guard refuses to leave their positions-the younger generations refuse to comply but instead of promoting an alternative model or an agenda for their legitimate power taking they tend to passive resistance which in long term is not productive.

The big question is "What's in it for us?"

I will probably never own property because I refuse to become a debt slave.
I don't want to have a family because anytime she chooses, I lose it all.
Since I don't have a degree, any job I do get gives me the option of shelter or food, never both. (People with degrees also have this issue, which is worse. At least I can say I did it to myself.)

I look at last years debt crisis as a perfect example. There was a real opportunity to do something to put us on the long, hard path to recovery. What did our dear leaders do? Kick the can down the road, we'll deal with it later. I feel like they are going to continue doing it until they are dead. What does that leave us with other than a mountain of shit? Who wants to inherit that?

Why This Generation Sucks

Many replies in here prove the article right lol.

"We're helpless"
"We have no power"

Yadda yaddda... Mission complete for the elite. When people stop being zombies and realize collectively and alone THEY HAVE ALL THE POWER its a beautiful epoch changing thing.

See the elites only run shit because WE ACCEPT their shitty systems of paper money, fraud, false promises, and debt. Stop accepting it.

I am not going to pay back my student loans. I refuse to become a debt slave.

I am opting out of my national pension program (it has been in deficit for years and will not be around when I retire, why should I pay into it?.. Fuk em.)

I do the exact opposite of the majority now. I have learned the majority of well-minded folks are idiots whom can't shape their own decisions... If you follow the herd you'll end up in the slaughter house.

Stop feeling helpless all it takes is each person to believe they hold the key to their own destiny and to not let any fake institutions or constructs stop them. This is how movements are born because once you get this and get angry and want to make a stand you will notice your fellow men in the streets with you!

I am not down about the future for me it is just hard to figure out how to make the type of things I want to happen. I am far from where I want to be but I feel I have the right mindset now to approach things different and use the same dirty tricks the elites use to get ahead. Play their game. Fuk em.

Have fun opting out of paying your students loans. Its a government run system, they're going to garnish your wages. Something like that has NOTHING to do with you. You can throw off the shackles of the paper money system tomorrow, but unless you think stores and everyone else is gonna barter goods with you for what you need you're gonna be hungry, homeless and cold real quick. This is the problem, the systems by which the 1% have fucked us are part of the infrastructure now.

I agree, people do have the power, but they need to be organized and work together. OWS started doing that, but see how that lost steam? If the youth of the world every collectively banned together to send these old criminal fucks on their way it would be the most onesided fight ever, but getting everyone on the same page is near impossible, and thats part of the system. Most young people are so inundated with video games and TV that they're never going to fight.

I have already looked into it. In Canada rules are more tight then in America but in 1992 the Govt handed over Student Loans over to the Big private banks. The Govt acts as a middle man and yes they can use tricks to help re-coup funds. But there is a legal loop hole that leaves me high and dry. And plus I do not plan to live in Canada full-term after I get my education. So they come looking for me if they want... I'll be waiting in another country with a gun and my lawyer on speed dial.

They won't spend 100K+ in wages and costs to track down 45K. Like I said sitting and fearing the "system" gives it legitimacy. Example: As an American you have no legal right to pay income taxes... only your acceptance in doing so makes it valid.

Another example if 35-50% of Canadian of American Students simply said fuck you and decided not to pay off loans what can they do? They will waste more cash chasing the lost funds.

Personally I would pick Dakota Meyer as my hero.

Its the government. Pissing away millions of dollars just for the fuck of it is what these people do for a living.

And again, you're right about if all young people did that, but most aren't in a position to take the chance. I think things like this might happen in the future, but things have to get a little worse first.

Why This Generation Sucks

Every generation says the generation before it was bad.

I don't think it's any different. We're simply 'out of touch' in regards to the younger ones.

Every culture has this too. The best thing we can do is learn to adapt, and milk it for everything we can.

We're older, more experienced, and have the ability to game younger women. We can learn the little neat tricks such as text game, we can use their short attention spans to our advantage, and most importantly, have fun in the process.
