Yes, well that's a thought i got trying to figure out why she could not answer such a simple question, about what was going on into her mind. But yeah, maybe that she is dumb as a rock is the simpler explanation.
Good point. She tries to relate it to herself and her own experience (common female heuristic) instead of approaching in a more abstract way. You'll notice some women do this all the time, being incapable of relating to things that have no personal bearing on them.
