I don't like it. This forum is already anti-newbie as it is. Every newbie is considered a troll for some reason. Every person had to start from somewhere and you need a constant flow of newbies if you want more season veterans.

Guys wanna ask stupid questions rather than read the archives.

Most newbies are like women. They believe that an entire body of knowledge is irrelevant. Newbies are are so special that they must start a thread all about themselves.

Then again, given that American men have been feminized, the solipsism should be no surprise.

It's still annoying.

If there's gonna be a vets forum it should be for vets who are vouched for and/or have lots of distinct rep points. No offense here but some people have gained lots of rep points for non game related subjects or get a lot of rep points for one datasheet. Not naming anyone here.

Don't get hung up over rep points.

I broke it down here: http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-10425-...#pid161462

This has bugged me for as long as I've been on different forums... like 2006. Started bugging me more after I had done my research, done the job, posted about how to get it done in great detail, then you see the new threads asking a vague question about what you just broke down... and it's easy to tell they didn't even try.

Noobs are allergic to the Search features in a lotta places, it seems.

Of course, I'm always happy to get a rep point but its important to keep some perspective..

I mean, rep points are given by dudes! The only way to get them is to impress dudes! The only people who see them and care about them - are dudes!

Rep points are not given for successfully running Game on chicks!

They are given for writing to other men about successfully running Game on chicks.

The whole "Is This Beta" thing has got me thinking...

Are rep points the new notches???

Spin off forums are a natural occurrence when forums get big. No big deal. NN is the first.. I'm sure there will be more. They'll probably complement this forum more than anything.

Since day one, even before I sold books, I prefer being open and sharing everything, regardless of what I get back in return. That's just my personality and the forum is a reflection of that.

I'll just make a prediction for you guys: even if you have a private forum of 50 or so guys, there will still be hesitation to share, because among those 50 will be quite a few lurkers/moochers. Every online community has this problem, no matter how small. A guy won't post for a while but you know he still has access and is reading your stuff. Then the drama begins about voting people off the island, and so on.

Though it's funny that a guy with 2 rep is trying to get the ball rolling on this. [Image: smile.gif]

Well I just learned a new word today, solipsism, thanks Mikecf, I'm reading about on wikipedia, now I just have to figure out how to pronounce it.

Neil, you seem to be hung up on rep points, they're really not that big of deal. I managed to collect 46 since I joined the forum back in September which puts me in the league of some guys who've contributed way more to this forum than I have, it is what it is. I don't post much in the game section because I don't feel that I have all that much to contribute, all though I'm no slacker when it comes to clocking notches. Most have been for data sheets on places I've traveled to or lived in but my recent oil sands one got me over 20, for one thread! I know its a lot but it was knowledge that I have and I wanted to share it on this forum, and by the sounds of it, there's even a few guys who are making the move or are seriously considering, it seems like that was literally a "life changing" thread for some people. I even received a few emails through the forum from lurkers who joined up just to thank me for posting that knowledge.

Anyway, I love this forum and appreciate all the knowledge that is one here and look forward to contributing more, not too sure there's a need for "advanced members only" section.

Heh, first thing I noticed.

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

By stating that you insinuate you've created quality posts and threads. I looked at your threads, and most have been in the newbie forum. Nothing wrong with that, but what makes you qualified to ask others what the name of a veteran forum should be?

Based on the requirements being tossed around, it doesn't seem like you'd be allowed to enter.

In reference to this:

We have decided to create a separate forum for Roosh veterans; a place to discuss secret tactics.

Highly reputed members from this forum would be allowed in by invitation. A person in our forum would be able to invite a lower reputed member.

These are some names that I thought up of on the spot. Please post any suggestions for a different name if you don't like any of these.

The problem is LURKERS!!! Lurkers, and more lurkers! I never like people just data-mining the forum, and adding no value, or worse, coming here to out a lot of us.

I wish there was a place where I can fully share tactic/victories without having to worry so much about who will find out and try to throw salt on my game. Lately, it seems I give way more knowledge than I receive. I'm just saying. I ardently feel there should be a place where veterans can hang, sort of like an admirals club/officers club. There has to be some sort of perks to being at the top of your game on this forum too aside from being "board of directors" with NO POWER.

Mixx

Well keep in mind that you're on the board of directors thanks to the masses who voted you there!

Not sure if serious or joking....

What the hell is the point of creating a separate forum for "the elite"? The idea is to grow and share with your fellow men, not hole up in one little corner of the internet.

G, I forgot about that forum improvement thread, good call.

Giovonny wrote a eye opening post about rep points. It is what it is. A rep point online boner system. Only because of Giovonny posts i can see how it really is.

Honestly, i cant help look over to my rep count every time i log in but it has its flaws and was turning into a popularity contest as Roosh said in another thread a few weeks ago.

Scotian is right about the rep points too. They don't mean anything anymore.

This put everything in a different perspective for me. Maybe it was the 2 hour power blackout here that cleared my mind. [Image: smile.gif]

I would hate to see this great forum broken up into smaller ones. I owe a lot to this place. I might not have been writing a book now if it wasn't for this forum. But somehow a elite players lounge appeals to me. For sharing the ultra special and maybe more compromising stuff only.

And Drymarro, keep dreaming !

Imagine you started threads on a cooking forum and guys shit all over you, or argued with you.

Or guys posting, "What's a cast iron skillet?" without even running a search and when there has been 10,00 threads on it?

You gonna feel that?

Or would you wanna talk with other experienced chefs?

Five fucking years after G said, "Get suited up," guys are FINALLY doing it.

But you know how many guys argued with him over that?

I laughed, because my friends stumbled upon "suit game" years ago, since we wear suits at work. When accidentally going out, got mad attention. Put 2+ 2 together.

Yet guys shat all over the idea.

Etc.

why are you giving him a hard time? All I see here is an eager young dude trying to help.

As far as sharing stuff I don't care about rep points but if I were to say some things that any lurker would see it would be ruined. Newb or 100 rep there's just not enough of us to destroy something ..Yet

Professionals tend to be the least likely to change. They might agree with you, but only in a academic sense.

Some guys argued with G but how many others, like myself, were shown a new side of things that they never would've considered before?

Letting the loud mouth few dictate and run you away from helping the quiet masses is not something I consider beneficial.

What good is gonna come out of a bunch of guys sitting around in suits talking about how suits are best?

Not to hate on G and all his excellent threads on suit wearing but wasn't it Barney from the Sitcom How i met your mother who said to always suit up if you want to get laid ? That was 7 years ago.

I thought i better hijjack this thread before both The_CEO and Drymarro get themselves banned. And i wouldn't want that Drymarro gets banned since he is writing a lot of high quality posts all the time.

Guys have to learn that sometimes an idea backfires on you. I learned it and so can you.
I have the feeling that someone is gonna get banned today. Theres just that vibe today.

Also, Mike, guys HAVE to shit all over the ideas. For us, as guys who get it, to exist as we are, the bulk of men out there have to be clueless. Its their cluelessness, not our knowledge, that makes us exclusive.
