The registration on the 1st of the month is a good idea.

Restrict the newbs to a part of the forum, after 6 months let them have full access. If someone is posting quality content then give them full access.

Threads that are really good move them to the private section of the forum.

I feel that the quality has gone down, there are more threads comparing things instead of gold nuggets that I used to find all the time.

Perhaps there is a plugin or formatting tag that will stop google from indexing certain posts so can at least stop girlfriends from busting people. Wont solve the trolling issue, but will help. I just did a little googling without much luck but there is bound to be someone with more time and nerdling skills.

Another solution would be for Roosh to not only restrict member intake (as he is already doing), but also to make to make it so non-members cannot view content, or just perhaps newbie sections. At present lurkers do not have to be members, they can just watch on.

But I completely understand Roosh keeping things as they are, this forum is a fantastic promotions tool for his books and closing things up will tremendously reduce that. Every post we throw up is google bait, in addition to his awesome blog posts, that brings in traffic that could potentially lead to book sales.

This is an awesome forum, I love the combination of topics diverse group of brilliant members and we all have Roosh to thank for it. Taking your business and creating a new forum away from here is no way to pay him back for what he has given to all in this forum.

--

On another note, lurker hating. Honestly I was a lurker for a LONG time (check that join date - class of 08 yet there is a gap of almost 3 years between my posts, the quality of this place brought me back).

You guys bag them out, but I think they are harmless compared to the people who flood forums with useless posts (and double up threads because they fail to search) that contribute nothing to the forum except dropping shit all over the place that must be stepped over in order to get to what you are really looking for - valuable information.

Need to make a distinction between lurkers and those who just shit all over this place - the crappers.

I know it is easy to make the entire forum noindex, meaning google won't list it, but I don't know if the forum software can do that for subforums. I'd be surprised if it can't, but it is an option. Obviously Roosh wants it listed so an overall noindex is a no go.

Doing that, one could have subforums that are not indexed, meaning google will not list or search them, and simply have members gain access once they hit 50 posts or so. That will weed out the trolls for the most part and prevent pissed off ex's, haters, etc, from accessing subjects that may be incriminating.

Actually, this method would work fine as most forum software I have seen allow2s automatic promotions based on number of posts, and since membership would be required even if a thread was listed in google a non member would not be able to access it anyway.

Typed this out as I was thinking but it should be understandable. [Image: biggrin.gif]

Problem solved.

Keep in mind that the bulk of new accounts registered become defunct.

I think keeping newbs separated for 6 months would be disastrous. If the state of our "newbie forum" reflects that a newbie only board would be like, no one would persevere long enough to join the main board.

I like how things are now, but I think we need to actively start seeking out and recruiting via word of mouth guys with experience who would make valuable posters. I have no doubt that the very senior forum members here know like-minded, experienced guys who aren't a part of this forum, who would become valuable contributors here. For example, G probably knows some international playboys like himself who would make great members. Similar for all the other top posters here.

It would be very wise of us to actively recruit them and bring them into our fold, but still not exclude regular new members from joining.

Yeah, that wasn't very clear. Like I say I typed it out while thinking about it and I haven't dealt with software much in a few years.

Basically, just set up a member viewable only subforum that automatically grants access after 50 or 100 posts. I've seen other forums set up like that and it works well. They were in the blackhat SEO arena and didn't want to let just anyone view the better ideas, so you needed a number of posts to advance to the more in depth info.

I'd assume this is something that can be set up from the admin control panel very easily.

I'm against a whole new forum. It would take all the knowledge away from this one and we have to remember that everyone here had to start from zero.

One thing i don't think you guys consider is that Roosh needs a constant flow of newbies going because he wants to sell his books. The seasoned players already have them. I'm ashamed to say that i still haven't finished BANG or even started on Day Bang but thats not the matter at hand here. Without Roosh we wouldn't be here in the first place and i owe a few bangs and flags to techniques here. No matter how important some people think they are here, its Roosh's decision since its his income on the line here. (correct me if I'm wrong roosh)

On a sitenote : Rooshv scared the crap out of me with his bang Argentina book, i was almost too scared to even go out and face the evil horror of cold, flaking Argentinian girls.

However, a small subforum (20 to 25 distinguished rep points, not a member who got 12 points for writing one thread or gains all his points from one niche subject) where people can post (naked) pictures or have highly "dangerous" threads like mixx airbrb thread or even the couchsurfing thread would be nice. By dangerous thread i mean a thread that could ruin a lot of good things for a lot of seasoned players if newbies, haters or feminists get the word out. If couchsurfing had been looking out for guys like me than i wouldn't have so many South american flags in the first place. So keeping opportunities like this intact is important for me.

I disapprove of excluding information about clubs or cities like another member said in this thread. That would be unfair to others if you like to leech of their city info or datasheets and not share anything yourself because you're afraid to ruin it for yourself.

No offense but i wonder why some of the posters in this thread with zero to a few rep points are even in this thread.

If this is to be done only way for it to be legit is if it's done as a subforum of RVF.

Why not just use an email thread to prevent confidential and valuable info from getting into wrong hands?

I am 100% against the idea of having a new forum, or restricting the access to newbies for as long as 6 months.

Yes, there is some info and some data which is of high quality, and lurkers are a big problem. But creating a new forum or making it too top secret is going to be a problem eventually.

The best thing to do?

Make a sub-forum. Keep it invite only.

Only the playas who have added some decent value to the forum may be on that sub-forum.
Don't make too loud noise about that.
Just create a sub-forum and start posting threads relevant to the experienced playas or those who add the value to the forum in their way.

This would not only cut down on valuable info getting out, but would also encourage the newbies to add more value to the forum and get into that Master sub-forum.

Plus, it's technically easy to do.

Invite to subforum.

Having objective statistical measures such as rep points, no. of posts, reps per post ratios, etc. are no good because people give reps according to very different preferences, although once you're in the 98 percentile I'm sure you're genuine at some level.

A better way to do this is good, old-fashioned vouching for one another. Especially useful for those of us who have met other forum members in real life. This is a more serious form of quality control.

I liked the first part of the reply but in no way I'm inviting anyone on this forum. A lot of members dump their dirty laundry here which even their closest friends shouldn't know.

Lots of you guys seem to have failed to read posts on this matter.

ROOSH ALREADY REJECTED THE IDEA OF A PRIVATE FORUM/SECTION HERE on RVF! I have asked for this already, and if you search the forum, there is a already a thread on a private sub-forum under this one. Roosh declined it. So, that's that. PLease stop posting a sub-forum is the way it to go as if that already did not occur to us. It has!

I don't like it. This forum is already anti-newbie as it is. Every newbie is considered a troll for some reason. Every person had to start from somewhere and you need a constant flow of newbies if you want more season veterans.

I'm sorta against this because I would not get access to the private stuff due to my lower rep. So it would mean I miss out on the golden nuggets dropped by Mixx and others.
Despite my lower rep, I am a stand up guy and would never try to spoil things for fellow players the world over. I don't bitch, don't report non-compliance with policy to websites like Arbnb or CS, don't steal private pictures and forward them to your girlfriends, or whatever other similar behavior. Still, I (and many others) would be excluded from the exclusive forum by definition.

First things first. OP wants to recruit high value contributors to join a new forum. And you want to do that right here on Roosh's own forum.

Please tell me you talked to Roosh about this beforehand. If not, I suggest getting Roosh's blessing for this concept before moving ahead with it.

Now, there are two different concepts on people's wish lists.

1) An elite, inner circle forum with only the most respected members invited. Say, 30-50 guys, max.

2) A slightly improved level of security for selected forum content. Something better than having everything wide open to the general public and indexed for all time by Google.

If I understood right, the inner circle idea (1) has been trialled in the past and then closed. But I think the concept in (2) still deserves a chance.

Hotwheels laid out the concept, it's easy to set up. A registered forum account and 50 posts to read the "firewalled" subforum. It's not foolproof. But let's not make the mistake of saying: just because we can't have perfect security, let's have no security at all.

This is worth a try. Case in point. Over the last couple of months, Roosh has had to stop discussing his location in real time. If we had the non-public section, he may be able to discuss things more openly on that subforum.

You are never going to be able to prevent someone making a passing reference to Roosh's location or airbnb bangs on the open forum sections. But it would be a lot better than the current state.

I am relaying what Mixx and a few others wanted.
-Roosh doesn't want a subforum.
-I did not come up with this.
-You guys are making a bigger deal about the detracting of forum members than necessary. There are thousands of other PUA forums that members can go on but they don't because they like RooshV.
Having a small, little private forum won't be a big deal for this reason.

-Stop suggesting a subforum as this was already suggested.

Thank you.

What? Sorry man, we are not paid writers here, we do not need his "blessing" or approval to post elsewhere. However, Roosh gets respect for this awesome site, and he is definitely welcome, and encouraged to be part of the efforts as he has already rejected doing this here, on his forum.

You guys are making an incredibly big deal about this. Seriously, is this how you guys act with women? sssheesh! Everyone chill-out!!! Nobody is talking about leaving this forum, and nobody is suggesting senior members stop making contributions. We all LOVE this forum, and especially love how far it has come since it was first created (for those that were here 2 years ago).

Does anyone really believe Ben Affleck started rocking the Roosh look without getting it approved first?

Ben wasn't born yesterday. He flew to an undisclosed Eastern Europe location and requested an audience with the big guy.

Maybe a slightly melodramatic choice of word, but you get the idea.

We have decided to create a separate forum for Roosh veterans; a place to discuss secret tactics.

Highly reputed members from this forum would be allowed in by invitation. A person in our forum would be able to invite a lower reputed member.

These are some names that I thought up of on the spot. Please post any suggestions for a different name if you don't like any of these.

@Drymarro. You invited yourself to this idea and you're now trying to set up the rules already. It seems unlikely that Mixx instructed you to do this, so my question to you is :

- Why are you even bothered with this ? you have two rep points and you're unknown on this forum.
According to the "rules" its for members with 20 rep points or more.

If there's gonna be a vets forum it should be for vets who are vouched for and/or have lots of distinct rep points. No offense here but some people have gained lots of rep points for non game related subjects or get a lot of rep points for one datasheet. Not naming anyone here.

Actually if you look at the post in the thread I referenced he actually did ask me to so how about you read before making judgments?
Sure I'm not that well known but I do post from time to time. Heck I posted a guide on rolling solo to college parties. Got no rep. I don't care. As long as I offer valid contributions to the community and appreciate how others help me out that is enough.
I don't have 20 rep but I am the one that took action and got this debate fired up so please don't tell me something I already know.

This is absurd. You guys are more worried about a secret society that will not share with you than worrying about making your game so tight that you will have 20+ points and join the 5 star elite players club.
