I was considering Guatape because I saw a poster for this hostel: http://www.lakeviewhostel.com/ seems like they have some decent activities there like hiking, kayaking and fishing, so I may check it out.

Seamus, you did not talk about chasing girls in any of these towns, but I'm curious about Jardins as I know the other 2a re a waste of time as far as chasing girls goes. I assume that was because there really wasn't any talent worth mentioning?

Exactly, which is why I put that little disclaimer up top. These pueblos aren't for picking up girls (the one exception being the film festival, where I did quite well). The talent is much lower than the cities and the nightlife options are slim.
