I also gain weight in Colombia. Every breakfast is eggs, hot chocolate (lots of sugar), and arepa de chocolo. I had to get a gym put in my place just to survive. In Colombia, especially in Medellin, they are partying every weekend. How many calories are in 2 bottles of agurdiente red top? The amount of rice and beans that I eat here is insane. My problem is that I love the food, go figure...
They sell a sugar-free version of aguadiente...which tastes exactly the same as the original version (like crap) but I'm sure it has a lot less calories.
The reason for that is because the sugar-free version reduces hangovers. Apparently, the sugar is what causes them in aguardiente.
Personally, I like the licorice-flavored Colombian drink. Absolutely necessary in Colombia just like Cachaca is in Brazil.
I've acquired a taste for aquardiente too, always sugar free. No reason to go for the red top. Sugar is what kills you. It's also nice that I thinks it's only about for proof not eighty or one hundred. So, while the flavor is sitting e alcohol content isn't. You can roll with the sugar free and save some inches on your waste instead of gassing tebn beers)
Also, no guys here drink light beer o diet soda. It really is considered a little I masculine. Even the women often won't go for diet drinks. I don't like getting stared at but I'm too old to need the extra sweetness from a regular soda, and ian the states I always try to DNA light beer to cut out some extra, empty calories.
