Is that including a flight from Medellin to Bogota? If so, it's not bad.
The cheapest way to go would probably be to look at Spirit (sometimes JetBlue) for the LAX > MDE and BOG > LAX flights. Then between MDE and BOG use VivaColombia. It's still going to end up costing close to $600 though with the luggage add-ons on Spirit.

Cheaptickets charges a booking fee. I'd try to book those flights directly with that airline (should be the same price minus the booking fee).
I see most airlines are around $500 for LAX-BOG-LAX, so somewhere around $650 isn't unreasonable, although just a normal fare.
As with all Colombian flights, remember to get the $39 non-resident tax refunded when departing the country. This fee is pretty much always included in the ticket price, even on mileage redemption tickets.

I wasn't aware of the $39 tax refund. How do you get that?
There's a window near the check-in desks, they will stamp your passport, which you can show to the ticket agents and they will process the refund. Delta is annoying and puts it back on your credit card in a couple of weeks and Copa gives you COP on the spot.
I've only done it at MDE and BOG and it's pretty straightforward, takes 5 minutes extra really. Copa is proactive and actually asks if you want the refund, while the others could care less.

Another option is Satena http://www.satena.com/ They fly between EOH and Bogata. EOH is Aeropuerto Olaya Herrera which is the one actually in Medellin across from El Pablado. Searching a random date in May it looks like EOH-BOG is about $60. Without the cab fare all the way out to MDE it starts looking like a pretty good option.

While it did take a long time, Colombians finally went crazy for bachata.
Not all of them can dance it. But you won't see them consciously reject it like they used to.

Reggaeton is huge in Medellin and continues to get bigger and bigger. On the other hand, the last vallenato song that really hit it big in Medellin was maybe three years ago.
As I've spent time in Medellín recently, roughly two weeks spaced out over three visits, I'll drop a few nuggets here.
Overall quality of girls I would give a 6. Cute and bangable with nice bodies. Day game is good. There are lots of great neighborhoods to live in. Avenida Poblado en front of Sante Fe and this vicinity heading north around rush hour. There are a lot of hot chicks dressed in nice work clothes/heels walking around here after work. Lots of chicks looking bored waiting for the bus...definitely a good option. Got a few numbers here but couldn't close on a cutie due to time constraints.
Metro stations, actually inside or just in front of them on the street. San Antonio and Parque Berrio is pretty good but you generally get lower class girls. Poblado is pretty good. I also thought Estadio, Floresta, and Industriales were good. Lots of people are coming and going at all hours, and many people stand at the turnstyles waiting for a friend. A few stunners to be seen, could be a potential gold mine.

La Hacienda - Carrera 49 #52 - 98 Centro - Definitely the best morcilla I've had in Colombia, and their bandeja paisa, although pricey at around 22,000 COP, is massive and very tasty. It ranks in the top 3 for me in Colombia. Also, their daily ejuctivo menu is great and affordable. I got a cazuela lunch here one day for under 10,000 COP.
El Chocolero - Centro near the San Antonio stop located in the same building as Exito facing a main street. They have pretty tasty arepas de chocolo served with butter and a nice thick serving of cuajada (Colombian fresh cheese) on top. When they are fresh right off the griddle, around 11AM on, they were pretty good.
There are two arepa stands just in front of the Floresta metro station open probably after around 6PM. One is grilled and stuffed arepas and the other stand, my favorite, has the cheesy arepas cooked on a flat griddle served with sweet lechera, guayaba, or piña sauce on top. They are very cheesy and delicious, and cost around 3,000 COP for one. Great place to take a girl who likes eating arepas on the street, obviously.
Pergamino Cafe - Cra. 37 #8-37 Poblado. While not my favorite coffee in Medellín it is maybe 2nd favorite. Also well-priced. You can get a fresh pourover here from a selection of three of their freshly roasted coffees for around 4000 COP. Can buy bags of pretty good coffee for less than 20,000 COP for around 12 oz or 350 grams. Also, I saw a few girls in the 8-9 range, some of whom were alone...this is back when I wasn't doing day game as much and didn't approach...fail.
El Laboritorio de Café - at least 3 locations. The most convenient location is probably in the centro. They are located directly to the left of the front entrance to the Museo de Antioquia in Botero Plaza. They have my favorite coffee in Medellín and are probably top three for me in all of Colombia. Great date place, the girls all loved their granizado here which is cheap and admittedly delicious like 4000 COP for a cup.
*Pro-tip: if you are waiting for a flight out at the Enrique Olaya Herrera airport or the Terminal del Sur bus station, be sure to walk check out their location in the airport. From the Terminal del Sur it is literally a 2-3 minute walk. You can buy 20,000 COP +/- 1lb bags of their whole bean coffee and for my money they have some of the best coffee in Colombia.
Tres Cordilleras Cervecería - Calle 30 # 44 - 176 Barrio Colombia. They have one of my favorite beers of Colombia, the Mestiza pale ale. On Fridays, they have packages where you can buy like 5 beers for pretty cheap. Can't remember the exact price but it was good.
BUYING HERBS IN MEDELLIN
I got a tip from my only bang in this town that the best herbs to be found in Medellín can be found in Barrio Antioquia. Basically where you want to go (during the day is probably a lot safer) is south of Calle 30 and east of Carrera 68b (basically right in front of the Olaya Herrera airport.
Start walking (or take a taxi for the less adventurous) south from Calle 30 on Carrera 68b until you come to a corner with graffiti on your left. The graffiti mural says "Barrio Antioquia (says 'Insuperables 10' also)" If you make a left at this corner, there is a little tienda (more like shop window with a small slot) with a small window located immediately on your right at the corner where you can get small bags of cripi (5000 COP) for probably 1.5 - 2g worth or pre-rolled for like 2000 COP I think the price is. There are several other tiendas with varying quality (but generally the best quality I have found in Latin America so far though) offerings.
The best quality I found was about a block past the "Barrio Antioquia" mural located in a tiny park with a couple worn-out looking hookers and maybe slightly intoxicated-looking people sitting there on a bench. Ask them where is the cripi, and they will hook you up with some pre-rolled from their bag or refer you to an old lady who has another little window selling good cripi (basically a relatively potent seedless indica) which will get you quite intoxicated. Same prices. You can also get bags worth 10,000 COP which probably hold 3-4 grams. I walked here during the daytime and had no issues with security...good spanish obviously a smart idea and not wearing jewelry or expensive shit.
I like the punto rojo variety in general, but sometimes the cripi is quite good and strong too if you can find a fresh batch.

Look at it like this. I'm an ass man. If a girl has a small dumpy ass, you could easily give her ass a 2. Especially if ass is an important feature to you, like it is to me.
But if she has a nice face, and a great set of tits, you're going to tell me she's a 2--and thus not bangable--because a girl can only be rated by her worst feature?
In that case, yeah, I'll swoop some 2's.
I just think your way of evaluating a girl's attractiveness is misleading. If these girls can be considered 2's, then either your standards are impossibly high, or your scale is easily skewed. Unless you meant to say that a girl can only be evaluated by her worst feature, if that feature happens to be her face. Because I might agree with that.
There are two main things I evaluate when rating girls. Two main features: the body (including ass/tits) considered in aggregate as one entity, and the face as the other entity. Take note that while tits, for me, aren't a mandatory requirement, they are a nice bonus. Ass and toned body with cute face is way more important.
To your point about a girl ticking all the right boxes except for the ass for example, well that one is typically a game-time decision. Depends on many factors like how long has it been since getting laid, etc. But typically, in truth, I wouldn't approach such a girl to begin with. Lately I've been able to be much more picky as well, because...Colombia. My current standards may loosen up a bit once dipping down into Ecuador in a week's time...I've heard there's a fair share of pancake asses but will verify once on the ground there.
That being said, a chick with a busted face but banging body (aka butterface) is TYPICALLY a WNB for me and many other guys. Likewise, a chick with a pretty face and busted body (fatty, or girl with zero/negative ass) is also a WNB. However, in desperate times, I will give the advantage to the butterface with or without ass over the fatty with pretty face EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I finally found Helm bank which let me open a savings account, no questions asked and exchanged at 3150. Also, they have a special 5 percent annual interest savings account. A real estate transaction at that exchange rate is a can't lose proposition.
Now, I am just trying to find a city to settle down 6 months of the year, since it will not be Cali or Barranquilla.

Medellin, Bogota and Manizales are the 3 remaining candidates.
If you are going to put up with all the crap that goes along with Colombian girls, it might as well be where there is the most quality.
