Not sure if this is threadworthy but wanted to share this instead of leaving it someplace else.

I've noticed on occasions that when I use that word their eyes light up.

I said last night to a girl claiming not to be a slut "Don't be surprised if I come swoop you" Her whole demeanor changed and some fat girl had to pull her off me because her boyfriend was getting irate.

I'm not sure what they think it means. Fuck? Date?

This word is becoming a staple in my direct game.

Anyone else?

Its strength is the ambiguity. It could mean any number of things, she gets to fill in the blanks and have plausible deniability. I like the word swoop a lot.

It is kind of funny how it has taken new life with the internet.

I've used it before (thanks G) and have gotten positive reactions. I think its because they associate swoop with "im gonna swoop you off your feet like prince charming" It makes them expect that you are different from the other dudes and be more open to your advances.

Ambiguous words have some kind of strange powers.

Once, 'gonzo' caught up within my group of friends. A Rat-Pack thing. "Hey dude, whats your gonzo? Well, I was going to gonzo this chick. Well, gonzo then. We will gonzo later."

And I would come up to a girl "Hey, I really like your gonzo, tell me about it" or "so, whats the gonzo with your friend?"

They always opened up. I guess that they interpreted the word as they pleased, to whatever they wanted it to mean."

It makes sense: a "swoop" move, in English, describes the spirit and actions of a player - if you'd go so far to call yourself one. It implies danger, a staple aphrodisiac in any p's arsenal.

Maybe we should take it a step futher: the thesaurus suggests "snatch" and "pounce" as verbs, but "maurading" is a good one to (if you conjugate the noun). A buddy of mine from CT used to like "slay".

So... are you headed out Sunday night to go marauding... slay some lizards?

Or are you going wait till Thursday before you pounce?

"Swoop" is in my vocab as well El. I use it in idle chit chat when I'm letting them know when I'm going to pick them up.

"I'm gonna...swooooop...you at 8pm."

I exaggerate the word when I say it. Like you, I noticed that chicks dig it when you say it so the word has been added to my arsenal.

Upon thinking about it a bit after reading your article, I think women respond to me when I use it because when you exaggerate it a bit it takes your voice through a range of lower range sounds. Deep voices move most women.

In addition, the word has sexual connotations, so that double bang effect just gets them wet when you use it especially as I imagine you are when you confront them directly...

With a straight face while the look in your eyes is saying something else.

Using the word swoop is like wearing nice shoes. Chicks dig it. Who really knows why. If you can bang them by doing it. Do it.

I think girls know exactly what it means so in a way its like using the "apocalypse opener" but giving her deniability at the same time. Its like the word "shoot" being used by little kids.
