best NATURAL NO BOOSTER? = beetroot.yeh that horrible purple vegetable you've probably never eaten. i eat it all the time to keep my blood pressure low,and if you eat it often enough you'll feel great, better pumps from the NO!

These?

I eat them all the time. Sauteed in olive oil they make a great compliment for steaks.

I ate beet root for 5 days strait recently as a test and my erections were rock hard and my pumps were insane in the gym. The leaves and stems did this I find, and not so much as the actual root meat of the Beet. I have always eaten The actually root meat but I never noticed such a pronounced difference until I started to eat the greens. This stuff is legit.

I like to make beetroot juice with blending a shit ton of greens and letting it stiff through a strainer - natures Viagra.

the whey, casein, and multi I currently take all have some BCAAs already in it, how good are these? I take 2 scoops of whey and 1 of casein daily which gives me about 2g of arginine daily. The multi has 800mg of an "amino blend" so I'm not really sure how to count that. I'd like to try more arginine, what do you guys think?

Also, my multi (optimen) has 30mg of zinc as zinc citrate. Does or has anybody also added ZMA on top of this?

You can Isolate and load Aminos for various reasons as each helps something more than others. I don't personally mess with BCAAs because there is to much bullshit surrounding how they are marketed and sold since at there very essence they are just pre-digested Aminos. Your body chains up the necessary Aminos by default via the digestion process so taking the processed form just skips a step really and nothing more. If your short on time to eat full protein meals, or have certain chronic ailments it's for sure a plus. But many supplements have dubious blends that load up cheap Aminos while skimping out on the important once all of which your body would match up naturally to the right levels itself. Lysine for instance - is the most important Amino for muscle growth/recovery. Thus one could easily isolate Lysine as its quite affordable and then just source the rest from food and/or Whey. This option is considerably more economical and would offer more benifits for muscle building overall but the Supplenents industry keeps that quiet and instead sells you 80$ pixe dust when Lysine is in the health store for 12$ bucks as its a common immune system builder and cold sore remedy.

Arginine indeed works and it's beneficial if your using it for what it's good for. But like any Amino it works best stacked with other shit, etc. For me Arginine did not start working wonders till I paired it with pycnogenol. Prior it just worked okay, but after pycnogenol I was getting pumps and stronger erections more eaisly with a lower dosage - it's almost as if it unlocked a door or something. The drawback is that pycnogenol is bloody fuking expensive. I think it was 50$ bucks+ for a tiny bulkshit bottle that barley lasted a month - fuck that.

@Juice - Figure out if it's part of the puzzle you are trying to build. It might be other Aminos your are looking for. If Arginine is l what your after then look into pycnogenol to boost potency initially then pair it with Citrulline down the stretch. Citrulline which many on here mentioned does work and I agree helps the efficiency of Arginine (I can cut down to 2-3 grams daily vs 8 grams daily before), and Citrulline also helps limits the dodgy aspects of it (herpes/hpv going nutty if you have the streams present).

@ Kosko:

Treatment of ED using Arginine and Pycnogenol

"We conclude that oral administration of L-arginine in combination with Pycnogenol causes a significant improvement in sexual function in men with ED without any side effects."

(Not saying you have ED - just confirming the effect.)

I recently read a review on Amazon of the powdered form and someone said it "tastes like sweat from satan's ass crack" or something along those lines...

Reading MikeCF's juicing blog, I wonder if beet juice would be just as good.

The powder tastes like a shanty town's hookers pussy. It tastes like sweet death. Don't take the powder!

I have been still on Arginine off and on. I have found a sweet spot with supplements and combos but I have not been able to follow up for a third time confirm.

Arginine does work best when it's front ended with the Pycnogenol supplement I listed. It's pricy but taking this once a year helps a lot to just remind your body to absorb the stuff. Also paring Arginine with Citrulline helps with absorption as Citrulline is a pre-cusor if I remember right.

A good pre-workout that I use has large amounts of both Citrulline and Arginine so I typically use that with another Arginine on the side and it does the job and is more convenient for me then taking two supplement pills when it's all just in the power for me.

there is inconclusive evidence that arginine can function as a supplemental "fat burner." But it doesn't "burn" fat in the thermogenic sense - it supposedly induces greater lipolysis - the release of your fat into your bloodstream - that you can burn off through exercise.

Kosko what dose do you take?

This looks interesting:

http://cen.acs.org/articles/91/web/2013/...scles.html

Apparently watermelon juice has a lot of citrulline.

I also found this on Arginine:

http://ergo-log.com/arginineanabolic.html

Apparently it boosted GH in power lifters if the dosing (of a large amount, 10g) was spread throughout the day, but if taken pre-workout, it actually lowered the GH peak.

There's evidence that L-Citrulline is actually preferable. It's converted to L-Arginine in the kidneys.

I think the main difference is the L-Arginine provides a bit of a shorter duration, higher amplitude blood level versus a smoother long term blood level when you supplement L-Citrulline.

Citrulline does give huge pumps at the gym. I haven't found any other use for it though. If you need to temporarily puff up, it will do that.

This thread is old and as I scroll down I was about to add that indeed L-Citrulline is much more effective. It is the precursor to arginine and NO so it works much better. Over the last year I have transitioned fully to L-Citrulline and no longer take NO aside from what is in my preworkout. It works. I take the unflavored powder and mix it with juice or my preworkout. It tastes tart and sour but nothing to bad.

I started hitting 6 grams of L-Citrulline daily with 100mg of Pycnogenol and the thing that was most noticeable was my how much my recovery rates had improved during my work outs.

The only problems I have with it are it's moderately expensive and L-Citrulline powder smells like straight fucking jizz.

It's really hard for me to say what works and doesn't here since I first took this as a Citrulline/Arginine blend, and it seemed to do something... but I was also taking a multi-vitamin. I would characterize a brief period where I was taking a B supplement and Citrulline/Arginine together as "hellish" for how hard I was all day. It didn't last though.

...I've been off supplements for a while, maybe it's time for my cock to participate in a controlled study...
