Hahah. Man, that sounds quite unpleasant.
I thought I'd picked up something a while back from some bitch, my beautiful cock being covered with itchy red splotches. Turned out to be a fungus, after application of the correct cream (recommended to me by a nurse), all gone. Was also told to quit wearing mesh basketball shorts so often (they don't breathe).

Exact same thing happened to me not long ago. Itching and redness. I was freaking out for a week, reading up on the herpes threads on the forum and self-diagnosing on WebMD before finally having it checked out.
Turned out to just be a urinary tract infection and fungal infection, got some antibiotics and cream, chugged apple cider vinegar, boosted vitamin intake and it was all clear within a few days.

I did a write-up in one of the threads about my sordid tale of getting a girl's yeast infection from raw-dogging. My shit got red, swoll, and shiny. It was nasty.
I got a cream at the doctor's, used it for a few days, and then had the thing clear up just in the nick of time to bang a girl that was visiting me from out of town (literally that morning). As a courtesy, I wore a condom so as to not spread any residual infection.

Less likely. I got a panic when my ex had a recurring yeast infection and I was raw dogging her all the time. I went to my doctor and the chance of catching it is slim if you had circumcision.
Definitely reduces the likelihood, and also makes it less likely to be persistent, but it still happens. In any case it's not such a big deal.

When I was 16 I had a job clearing brush and apparently got into some poison oak. The first place it appeared was my junk and I freaked the hell out. The next day it had started to spread to other areas and my buddy at work had also developed a rash. Never been so happy to have poison oak.

I think the forum needs a no talking about STDs rule. Everyone knows that this is the risk of playing the field- yet people keep bringing it up even though there is nothing new to be said about the topic. Its akin to people whining that they lost money in Vegas- if you're not ready to lose your chips then don't put them on the table.

There's a lot of room for trolling with STDs, but a blanket ban would be silly. It can be constructive like in the other herpes thread where a lot of good info was dropped for someone who caught the virus, specifically geared to how to continue the playboy lifestyle without endangering others.
That kind of thing is useful and constructive.
But yeah we all know the risks so we should keep it confined to useful info without fear-mongering.

I've myself had a severe "oh god is it herpes" scare; my ex got herpes and I had canker sores several months later. Having the information available to know the difference would have been godsend.
I do think having "STD threads", as long as they're not trolling, is a good thing. There's no worse feeling than wondering if you got something, and an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We do take the risk with the lifestyle, but knowing if you're infected with something, if you can keep going/get it treated, what you need to do to be safe if you can't "cure it", and how to minimize your risks in the first place all are important.
