Doctored images featuring celebrities in compromising sexual photos have been around for decades if not longer. Today, they are making apps that swap faces of celebrities to create realistic videos. Recently, there has been an increase in deepfake videos superimposing celebrities like Emma Watson, Selena Gomez, Angelina Jolie, Katy Perry, Gal Gadot and even former first Lady Michelle Obama. Many of these videos look like they have a sexual nature to them, but many of them are just innocent scenes from movies. Some of these videos look obviously fake, but many of them look indistinguishable from reality.


The software is still in its infancy, but it is becoming more and more common by the day. The program works by browsing the web for still shots of the celebrity or person you want to include in your video. The more still shots and the more angles you have of the person's face the more accurate the video will be. Do you see yourself using this software, and would you use it to humiliate a person who conned or wronged you in the past? Honestly, could you imagine how humiliating or disturbing it would be for your enemy to see their mom featured in a deepfake porn video? Whether the software could be used for good or bad is any ones guess. Either way, I'm still going to get my popcorn ready!
