Nigeria
Norway
UK
Venezuela
mexico

Just go on a business or tourist visa and work. I was caught in Nigeria and paid a $200 fine/bribe.

In Venezuela and Norway I was questioned.

If you are worried about working on a tourist visa dont bring tools or hard hats through immigration.

I'll admit it--I laughed.

What kind of work do you do exactly?

Just China for me. I've worked here illegally for about three years total and done two years of a mix of legal (and unauthorized work in my free time) while on work visas.

@scotian I was a field engineer installing American made equipment. Some for a large multinational and some as a contract engineer to little US and UK companies. I carried small handtools, hard hats voltmeters and more to sites in about 21 countries.

I still do this work, but only a few months a year.

^That seems a bit crazy to me, what would happen if you were injured, were you working without health insurance?

Immigration officer: "Why are you carrying construction equipment and hard hats?"

OP: "it's all part of my PUA outfit".

A better way to not get questioned would be to simply carry hard to find gear with you and just buy the voltmeter and hard hat in whatever country you're working.

I unknowingly worked illegally in Spain as an English teacher. I contacted an up upscale family owned company, filled out the paperwork, and they did a background check on me. So I thought I was legit. Most of my cohorts were from England and Ireland. Later on I found out that I was an illegal when I came down with an upper respiratory tract infection. My boss who was British told me to lie and say that I was a tourist if the doctor's office asked, because I wasn't supposed to be working in Spain.

I was pretty pissed. But I finished out my contract and split. Technically I was a 'victim of human trafficking'. Because I was brought over to work on false pretenses after being promised a legal job. But it's not like they were forcing me to work, or treating me badly; or anything.

For the record Spain would have been totally justified in deporting me if they found out and that's what they wanted to do. It's not like getting a free flight back to your country of origin is a punishment anyway.

FYI - When you're deported you're often pushed to buy your own flight to your country.

I never went to the hospital but did send some bills to the multinational Co's insurance plan when my wife went to the hospital.

well, seems i am not the only majado around, probably more who taught english or something without a work visa.

But yes, I completely support trump and the wall and will continue to work illegally where and if I can.

Wouldn't it be easier to be a subcontractor through a multinational that's aready there? That's what a american specialist did when he came up here that I met, he's on Behalf of X company subcontracted through Y

I was a contractor for American and British companies, they did not want to go through the time, money and effort to get the correct visa.

I actually worked illegally in the UK for a UK company. The airport in Aberdeen is full with different nationalities going to work offshore. Offshore there are no Visa requirements. I worked on shore.

The UK has so many work rules that the UK company brought in Americans from their subsidiary in the USA to work over time on some jobs.

Then again, it doesn't really matter that much; as long as the checks clear and nobody asks anything your good to go. I have a feeling your working in a field somewhat similar to mine. I've known guys who've done the same thing and gone south for work; their company books them a ticket and tells them to show up here and meet this guy and off they go.

yes.

And ask for a business or tourist visa at the airport or they get you the visa.

I have also gotten work visas for Saudi, Indonesia, Thailand and I probably forget where all. The business visa ruse wears thin after a few months of "meetings" 60 or more hours a week.

At heart I am an anarchists, fuck the rules.
