Most popular dances in certain countries - Heart Break Kid - 03-19-2017

Hey y'all, I've been taking swing dance lessons, and I am thinking of learning a new dance like Bachata.

I was wondering what recreational dances are popular world wide? For instance, if I go to Asia(which will likely happen within a year), do they have a lot of Bachata? Salsa? Is Jazz dance popular in say, Europe or Australia?


I suppose you could say this thread is for any knowledge on the dance scene in any particular country.

I know in France swing and rock is extremely popular. By far the most, basically, I was told if you are good at dancing rock n roll it's because you come from a good family/wealthy. It indicates/confirms your social status, which is important in France

Salsa is also a bit popular, there are many latin themed bars.

Oh nice, I wasn't sure if swing was popular at all outside the United States.
