BREAKING NEWS – Several people were reportedly wounded in a shooting at a South Florida nightclub early Monday.
Lee County Sheriff’s Lt. Jim Mulligan told WTSP-TV that at least 17 people had been shot at Club Blu Bar and Grill in Fort Myers. The station reported that the club was hosting a teen party.
Fox 4 Now reported that law enforcement officers responded to three separate locations where gunfire was reported and there are at least two dozen evidence markers at one of the locations. It’s unclear if the scenes are connected.
Syreeta Gary told Fox 4 Now that her daughter and a friend had to run from the gunman. Gary’s daughter wasn’t shot, but her friend was shot in the leg and had to be taken to a hospital. She’s expected to survive her wounds.
One woman told WTSP-TV that she heard about 30 gunshots. Other witnesses described the scene as a “madhouse.”
“It was a mad house people were running everywhere. All people were saying was their friends’ names to see if they’re okay — a lot of phone calls to parents,” he wrote. “But it was one of the scariest sights to just see people come pouring out like that.”
It’s unclear if police were seeking a suspect or suspects in the reported shooting. The victims haven’t been identified.

Florida is certainly ridden with gangs and drugs, but is something like that the norm or with precedent in Florida? Like, was there gang shooting in a night club that leaves many injured and dead before? Just curious.

I live in Florida and club shootings are very common especially in hood ass South Florida. The ages of the people shot are also not abnormal. In Miami they had a shooting at a nightclub at 5 in the morning a few years back, one of the victims was 13.
