Best electric toothbrush? - AtyourCervix - 07-22-2016

Had my Braun electric toothbrush for a while and looking to change. Hesitating between:
-Philips Sonicare DiamondClean
or
-Oral B Precision Black 7000

What are you guys using? Please dont suggest the cheap old manual toothbrush, i got no problems against them but really enjoy electric toothbrush.

The soniccare saw back-and-forth and ultrasonic speeds.

The oral b rotates.

The soniccare is easier on the gums because less movement, and less rotation so that's what I chose.

I don't have the Diamond Clean, but I have the previous model (which is virtually the same). I've had it for a year or so and it will naturally whiten your teeth over time if you use it everyday, assuming you're not constantly drinking blueberry juice, coffee and smoking 24/7 . Also don't forget to add some oil pulling every now and then with coconut oil to help to whiten and cleanse your mouth as well.

I've been using a Phillips Sonicare electric toothbrush for years and really happy with it. I'm actually surprised it still works after all this time! I just went and grabbed it, but I don't see a specific name on it other than "Sonicare".

Some important thoughts- be sure to brush really light. If you brush hard, you can brush away your gums. They don't really grow back. Also, change your toothbrush regularly. For a regular toothbrush, after about a month the bristles on the end will start to bend over like little hooks, and you will brush away your gum cells. Change them frequently.

If you don't have one already, get a water pick. It will really help your gums. It doesn't replace flossing, but it really helps clean the pockets between your teeth.

While Sophiared is a phony marketing spammy account, I can vouch for the Sonicare DiamondClean. If you really want the best or have bad brushing skills then go for the smart 9700 series. I bought it at BestBuy for 220 after a nice discount. I just stick it in my mouth and let the machine do it's thing. You can tell it works after a couple of days.

Another vote for the Sonicare DiamondClean, though I've never used another brand of electric so I can't compare to the Oral-B.

The replacement brush-heads are expensive (I stick with OEM Sonicare), but they have the bristles on top that change from blue to white to let you know it is time to replace the head. I also like how it shuts off automatically after two minutes so you know you brushed long enough.

I brushed for years with an Oral B moving brush device, after I got a free Kolibree from work (works like a sonicare) at my next dentist checkup I asked how my teeth were and it turned out that they had never cleaned so little plaque off my teeth (they looked at the records) so FWIW the sonicare sonic vibrating toothbrushes seem to be the best.

I use the sonicare diamond....Its a great toothbrush but I find the round heads on the oral b much better for reaching spots than the sonicare

After a recent trip to the dentist though I think the biggest improvement has been using one of these with the soft brush

I was using the fitting shown in the attachment previously but I think the brush helps get the gunk out much better


These are great as well if you have any gum recession/gaps in teeth at the back

And I think for sensitive teeth whether just regular or coming out of the dentist this stuff is amazing too

I agree, the right tools make a big difference! If you're looking for a sustainable option, a bamboo electric toothbrush could be a great choice. It provides gentle cleaning for sensitive teeth, while being eco-friendly, just like the soft brush you recommend.
