Gaming while wearing Glasses - Hallasan - 05-03-2016

I was surprised to see there have not been any threads about glasses and gaming (within the main part of the Game subforum)

In the few years and dozens of notches I have gotten since knowing about game, I have never picked up a girl while wearing glasses. For the most part this is due to a lack of effort, my mindset when wearing glasses will typically be focused on something else. In fact, in the morning when I decide whether or not to wear contacts, part of my decision is asking myself "Am I going to talk with multiple girls today OR will I interact with people a bunch today close, face to face?" If not, then I'll just wear glasses and focus on the other stuff for the day whether it is school, work, etc.

The most I have gotten based on minimal attempts while wearing glasses is number closes that lead to nothing. I can tell with certainty that people view me differently when I wear glasses, less looks from girls (and guys). I compare it to like going somewhere fancy but wearing subpar clothes. Yes, you are there but people perceive you in a different way and if you are trying to make an impression you still can, you just have a steeper hill to climb.

Of course, there are guys here that have picked up while wearing glasses. I am curious the mindset of other glasses/contacts wearing guys. Have you had a similar thought process?

Gaming while wearing Glasses - Valentine - 05-03-2016

I mostly wear contacts, but it really makes no difference in terms of how girls perceive you.

It's all in your head and 99% of the difference in results comes from how you feel whilst wearing glasses.

You've stated as well that you think it's mostly from a difference in your mindset whilst wearing glasses so you know this to be true.

Gaming while wearing Glasses - PhDre - 05-03-2016

I strongly suggest to ditch the glasses unless you have a super masculine face; nothing feminizes your face more than wearing glasses.

Moreover, glasses have a lot of negative stereotypes associated to them: weak, docile, nerdy, sickly,...
Whether they are justified or not, these stereotypes do exist.
It's not accidentally that the kids with glasses are prime targets for bullying in primary school, or that you feel more confident without glasses.

Gaming while wearing Glasses - WestIndianArchie - 05-03-2016

I wear glasses maybe 20% of the time and do better with them than without.

Tortoise shell frames. The actually add to my look. It's a 1% boost.

A chick sees me, i talk to her, she likes me, and then wants to try my glasses on. Her wanting to try my glasses, touch my hair, feel my tie - those props show her hand/and gives me more of a green light to go forward.

If you think your glasses are holding you back, you're not actually running game.

You're out there playing the odds and trying to tweak the least important part of the process.

How you make these chicks feel when you approach and interact is the ONLY thing that matters.

You can fuck a chick in bathroom if you talk to her right and tap into her mischievous side.

You don't have to say game doesn't work to be a game denialist. Focusing on extraneous bullshit is good enough.

WIA, then we disagree on this subject.

However, I don't see how advising against glasses amounts to game denialism.
Then we could also say that the common advise of working out and wearing properly fitting clothes amounts to game denialism.

Sure, you can pull if you're fat or super skinny. But the hurdle will be higher than when you're in shape.

You can pull when you're dressed like a high school kid, but it will be easier when you wear a nice fitting suit or leather jacket.

You mention that girls like to touch your hair or feel your tie. You don't necessarily need those, but you manage to make them work for you, thereby lowering the hurdle to a successful pull.

Because that's how I see glasses: as an obstacle. A small obstacle, but one that can easily be removed.
So why not lowering the hurdle for yourself?
Unless of course you've got a super masculine angular face, then the glasses can look very good on you and be a plus.

I'm happy that you posted your point of view, I'm curious as to how others think about it.

And to be totally honest, I need to add that my own glasses date from my complete blue pill days.
I relied on the advise of two women for their choice. As you can imagine, those glasses make me look extremely docile and weak.
But they work just fine, and I'm not going to shell out 800 euros for a new pair if I can simply pop contacts.

Personally I think it is generally best to ditch glasses.

I got laser myself and getting good results since. I think I was considered more of a geek going around in glasses though I did get my share of bangs. I was wearing some quality Tom Ford pair.

In my mind however a bad ass playboy is not someone who would usually be going out in glasses.

Go for the look that works best for you.

Gaming while wearing Glasses - Vinny - 05-03-2016

It is always better without glasses.
Glasses effect in my opinion varies from neutral to negative.
You wear glasses, it means you depend on them. It is a sign of weakness. Bad genes. Glasses in media is generally portrayed as a negative treat.
What is especially important to understand is demographics. If you are aiming at younger girls get rid of glasses now!

I used to wear glasses on a daily basis most of my life. I had -2 which is still OK to lead everyday life without glasses, but I just liked seeing everything in detail (think rack and ass). I have a masculine face and most people said I looked very good in glasses.
I had worn different styles throughout the years ranging from flashy orange colored to classic black. Glasses made me look older which is not always a handicap.

I got my Lasik surgery for different reasons. Wearing glasses, contact lenses did not go well with my lifestyle and my job.
Poosy wise I have only been doing better since then. Coincidence? Maybe. But I don't think so.

1 month from now I will be a year without glasses. And in this year I have had more pussy than all my life before it.
But I think this is mostly because I have ended a 5 years long LTR [Image: smile.gif]

@WIA. Having a good game may compensate for wearing glasses. But why would you want to wear a constant DLV on your face if you don't have to? Not to mention other drawbacks. Glasses sweat up after you go from cold to hot or when you drink tea, they make objects appear smaller (think tits, joking), get dirty and obstruct your vision, they fall of your face and don't allow you to wear sunglasses (which is a cool thing).

We should say this actually.

The OP brings up a good point. I think it's more psychological than anything. Glasses are subconsciously viewed as disability. I wear glasses, but at the height of my single days I wore contacts.

Gaming while wearing Glasses - Geomann180 - 05-03-2016

I do better without glasses because I feel better without them.

I hate wearing them.

I think you guys are overthinking this. I rock some nice Warby Parker tortoise shells and have never had a problem talking to girls while wearing them. If you have stylish glasses, they can be a complement.

If you look like this guy...

Never had a problem with it. There are chicks who really dig glasses and there are chicks who don't. I wear a pair of high end designer frames that go well with my over all look. A girl I took home recently was surprised the lenses were real - she thought I was just being stylish.

Gaming while wearing Glasses - Suave - 05-03-2016

I've been wearing glasses since I was a kid and wear them most of the time. Only for sports do I wear contacts on ocassion. Whenever I'm with girls I wear glasses and it hasn't affected me. That being said I wear the frames in the first pic below.

I have the navy frames and match it with my assortment of tight-fitting blue/navy shirts and sweaters. It's gotten me a lot of compliments from girls and even guys. The glasses look like a stylish accessory and when you pair it with the correct clothes it brings a bit of synergy to your look. This if anything will help you look more unique and fashionable.

If you get your typical hipster or steel-wire frames that's when it might bring you down. Get something with an edgy or aggressive look that makes them pop out. If they aren't a neutral colour such as black, grey or white, make sure your match your clothes colour with the frames to some extent.

Use glasses to give yourself an edgy look and it can help you stand out. If you decide to look like everyone else it might bring you down.

The two frames are the same except are of different colours. They are Oakley Crosslink Pitch. Oakley have some other cool designs worth checking out.

I came across an article referencing a study about how men with glasses are perceived compared with men that don't wear them.

The study found that men with glasses are seen as more modest and feminine then men without.

Hey WIA. Would you say that black men like us get more of a free pass with feminine stuff than other men? I sometimes got the feeling that we could get away with more than other men can. Like colorful shirts and glasses. I'm just guessing.

Gaming while wearing Glasses - wi30 - 05-03-2016

I've worn contacts for about 6 years. My eyes finally got bad enough to want glasses to supplement my contacts (-2.00 range). I got them for watching TV or running to the store at night.

Glasses are awful. There's bad peripherals, glares, reflections, and more. I initially got super weak contacts to help with sports, but my eyes have gotten bad enough now to rely on glasses/contacts most of the time. I wear contacts as much as possible and keep the glasses at home. They are so much more inconvenient than contacts I can't believe some guys prefer them on a day to day basis.

My endgame is lasik but for now contacts have such an advantage I'm shocked we are discussing it. What girls think should be the last thought on everyone's mind. I'd still wear contacts even if girls preferred glasses. It's night and day between the two.

I wear the daily contacts. I've never had the ones you have to save for months. Buy a couple boxes when you go to your annual visit and you're good to go.

If your "game" is negatively affected when you wear glasses then you need to elevate your "game"

If your "game" is positively affected when you wear glasses then you need to elevate your "game"

Here's some good advice on how to pick out glasses, if you're going to rock them:

Glasses give you a disadvantage, no doubt about it.

Contacts are where its at.

Well, that's an interesting point. I'm not WIA, but I'll chime in.

I think black guys are inherently viewed as more masculine by non-blacks, so that is why I think black guys can get away with wearing flamboyant, bright and interesting colours that would otherwise make a white guy look sorta girly.

That said, I'm not really that big on many of the fashion trends pushed by black designers, but I think they generally do well with colour selection and stuff.

Obviously, you probably don't wanna go out wearing hot pink shirts and shit, but a light pastel rose/pink or even powder blue can look good on a guy with brown skin, but would look unremarkable on a paler guy.

In regards to glasses, I've had a number of black guys who wore stylish glasses and cleaned up with lizards of all colours. Hell, I know some black guys who wear glasses strictly for style. But, I don't recall too many white boys with glasses doing well.

Interesting.

I'm a no limit soldier...I mean player.

I reject the entire idea that certain colors work with certain skin tones. Girls love that mentality and I say fuck that. It's rare that you see a girl that dresses well. I look for them everyday, and it's rare that you see a chick that can dress her body well. Rare.

As for black guys being able to get away with color, and other guys not...Ralph Lauren isn't thinking about Rakim when he okays a pink dress shirt.

I see fashion forward white guys regularly. More non black guys could get extra peacock points if they stopped dressing like they want to always be nobodies.

Like everything, be aware of what the rules are and the reasoning, but if it stops you, it makes you feel self conscious, that's the Matrix trying to keep you in your place. Self doubt is one thing, but when society says you have to do X,Y, and Z - that's mind control.

It's actually true, though. Certain colors can have the effect of highlighting imperfections in your skin, making you look sickly or bringing more attention to the dark circles that may be hiding under your eyes. In the end it's just another tool in the toolkit.

I think I just look better in some colours, but maybe that doesn't apply to you. I think a really dark black or navy blue shirt makes me look "old" in some ways unless it is absurdly crisp and fresh from the press, whereas a light colour like a pastel blue just looks "right" on me.

I don't really worry too much about fashion in general, so I will gladly admit I am not the dude to consult on that stuff. I am probably the sort of guy who would spend additional hours in the gym to get bigger so I have an excuse to not have to think so much about clothing styles. [Image: icon_lol.gif]

I also, reject the idea of "having" to wear any colour. I like Burgundy quite a bit, but I won't front like I would look amazing in a burgundy suit (or maybe I would? I've never thought of it. Hmmm.)

I do like to throw on more colourful stuff because it is a contrast to my somewhat reserved personality.

Gaming while wearing Glasses - BIG BOSS - 05-04-2016

I've never seen a well-dressed person look bad in blue. On the opposite end, orange has to be the worst color that can be worn. Its probably personal preference but I say stick to the basics.

Gaming while wearing Glasses - weambulance - 05-04-2016

I've worn glasses since 8th grade, never had any problems. And I've been approached by girls plenty of times, for what that's worth.

Yeah, I'm better looking with contacts just because my eyes aren't obscured at all. My eyes are a good feature and I have long eyelashes. But since I've been unable to find contacts that didn't make me want to claw my eyes out in 20 minutes, and I often do things that are not really safe with contacts in, I've stuck with glasses so far.
