Generating a steady online income - Geronimo - 07-08-2011

I haven't been making a lot of money lately using the affiliate marketing technique. What are some other ways to generate a steady, monthly income online?

What are you promoting / affiliated with?

Multiple internet security companies. It's nothing big. I just setup a site where I promote their products, but it isn't really working out.

I have tried, but I don't really know how (what) to do a website to promote other products. It would be nice to at least get $100/month [Image: huh.gif] If anyone can help me with some tips pm me please [Image: blush.gif]

I guess you need to not only offer something that isn't already available on a zillion other websites but promote it well too. Most people are not gonna make money from affiliate websites especially if your promoting something that is low cost.

I've done some 'research' and came to the conclusion that only a person who is specialized in either graphic design, web development, etc, are capable of earning a steady income. Do you guys agree?

No I don't agree of course it could help but it's not something that will make or break whether you make money online and most graphic designers/ web developers are arty or tech nerds which is not always a good fit for entrepreneurial skills.

If I was going to try and do something new I would basically look around for a small internet business that looks to be doing well then basically rip em off first copy everything they do then try to do everything better.

I've seen a perfect example of this recently, it's basically a short term flat rental site for gingos, the guy running it is in his late 50's he told me he started it for a bit of fun and now it's become something of a monster with close to 200 property listings.

I could easily copy everything he's done; site, fees etc then improve on it better website (his looks crap) additional services, better seo etc.
