Advent fasting - YoungBlade - 12-06-2015

So, the end of my 12-week bulking period coincided with Advent, and I decided I wouldn't just cut, I'd go for a fast like Aurelius Moner suggests.

My regime is lenient comparatively: I can eat from 10-6, and allow myself fish and fowl. I usually eat around 10am, 2pm, 4pm, and 5:30pm. Each meal is quite light.

I dropped 4lbs the first day, but have not budged weight-wise since then.

My workouts at the gym are definitely more intense this way. I feel the burn much quicker, and can practically feel my muscles sucking up all the nutrition from my fat reserves.

As far as mental state, I can definitely see why most religious traditions include fasting. Your mind wanders into odd places. My friends have even noted I'm not my usual self.

All in all, week one seems to be a success. 2.5 more to go.

That sounds great but I've gt a question... How do u deal with the insulin spike post breaking your fast?

You want to go read about "Cheatmode" and "lean gains"

Virtus.. I've already been through lean gains.

What he leaves out completely is that if you've been basically carb free for at least 14 hours ur insulin will spike once you eat solid carbs, proteins or fats. Plus waiting until after your workout won't work if you are only working our like 3 days a week.

Lol I felt like commiting suicide for like 1-2 hours after my insulin spiked

Kaebs, I work out 5 times a week, so that helps, but I feel fine after breaking my fast. Might have something to do with my youth, or perhaps my autodidaction distracts from any discomfort.
