I am seeing a disturbing trend in Hollywood movies, they want to shove their feminist ideology everywhere. Star Wars is a movie for BOYS that's the main target audience, why does this 'tomboy' Rey need to be in the poster? What's the point of having a subversive character like that? They've even replaced Boba Fett for a ugly woman with a short-hair cut.
They want to add more females lead characters for the sequel. Just like they are invading 'male only' space like strip clubs, they want to set up their circus in male only movies-Mad max.
You don't see me complaining if there are no strong male characters in chick flicks.

Perhaps we are being unfair, after all, according to the NHIS, 1.6% of the American population is gay. Which according to SJW math, means they have to be represented in everything.

Ah, who cares at this point. Star Wars is done; it has made its permanent contribution to the world's art and culture during a period of unparalleled artistic genius and verve. The Star Wars films that mattered were made in the late 70s and early 80s. It's done and left for us to absorb, savor, and reference in loving memes.
Any attempt to extend it to this time is destined to be equally stillborn, presenting a texture as deadly and evacuating as the original was rich and nourishing. Nothing more appropriate than for a DYKE to be the avatar of this blankness.

Star Wars lost its mojo when Lucas started revising his movies. Han shot first, it was an epic intro to a dark character that was moving toward redemption and then, he didnt.

Man I remember when Phantom Menace came out. The 90s were coming to an end and everyone was so excited for the 2000s to be upon us. New Star Wars movies using computer animation!
I hated it from the get-go. I think it took some people a little time to admit to themselves that the movies are just bad. In a way, Episodes 1-3 were a harbinger of things to come from Hollywood over the next decade.

Heh, for a second I thought you were referring to the Star Wars EU (Expanded Universe) that Disney threw out the window.
I, for the most part, have lost interest in Star Wars as a result (yeah it was filled with crap, but there was some decent stuff in there, too), but that said, the escapism from the hard news/realities is welcome every once in a while (How much can one person take of all this?). While I do agree that it's trivial, there's also cultural/entertainment fight out there as well - it's not all governments and politics.

Now that Disney owns Star Wars, it's free to rework the formula. Never mind that the original Star Wars faithfully followed the blueprint of The Hero with a Thousand Faces and made a mint doing it. It's time to update it to the 21st Century, and get more women interested in it.
