I'm not a UK lawyer, but she's probably been charged with an offence under section 1 of the Malicious Communications Act 1998, which has a maximum penalty of six months in prison or a fine, or both. Most likely it will be a fine -- but it still amounts to a criminal record.
The other possibility at a short glance is an offence under section 127 of the Communications Act 2003. Again, maximum six months prison or a fine or both.

I agree with you on principle. However, the people who would advocate for such laws need to be exposed to the consequences, and need to fight their own battle. It's a law and should be enforced, regardless of who breaks it. Rather than be selective about its enforcement, which reinforces the pussy pass, it should be enforced to its full stupidity so that everyone wants to change the law.

This is how simpletons try to express their complexity and superiority.
