Suggesting "We should hang out on ____" vs. asking for a number - RexImperator - 10-07-2014

Which of the two is preferable? Do you usually just say "What are you doing this weekend/Sunday/Wednesday?" etc. (with a specific time in mind to meet up) or suggest "hang out sometime"? The first seems better because is is more specific while the second, being rather vague just getting the number seems like you put yourself back into the box of having to use text game to move things along.

I ask to do something then get the number it seems to work better as the girl knows what's going down upfront.

If you can think of a date idea and time all that fast it can be good, but I can't.

I say "let's grab a coffee/drink sometime" or if I am afraid I will scare the cat I say "wanna get a X sometime"?

Get number then plan logistics.
