I mentioned this on another blog yesterday:

Note the 'actual'. Social Justice Warriors gain supply through their concern and sensitivity to issues for social approval points, which includes faking being more offended / outraged / hysterical than everyone else, because everyone becomes numb to stimulus over time. It's the simple nature of desensitisation.

To this end, they're subconsciously-aware that they're lying, which means awkward, unnecessarily qualifications that they're telling the truth.
