Ah, summer...

So, where do you go for your v-necks? As not all shirts are created equal in terms of style, fit and quality (including durability), the same certainly holds true for v-necks. I've had some that fit like a tent despite being my 'size', I've had others that disintegrate on the third washing, and I've had a few that just couldn't hold their color or keep their shape (picture carting a heavy carry-on bag with shoulder strap everywhere).

If it were up to me, I would design these things to be slim fitting (something that complements well an atheletic frame), durable (can withstand the rigors of traveling), and resistant to fading, piling, etc. I like the look and feel of a brand new shirt, slick and polished, and I would like for the shirt to hold onto that quality as long as possible.

So, if you feel that you've found a good brand of shirt that fits the bill, then please share.

Go to Target...I think the brand is Mossimo. Very good fit, I own ~4 of them (I'm 5'9" with an athletic build).

My favorite vnecks are jcrew, you can pick them up pretty cheap at outlet stores. I second heavy's recommendation for target. Target has super nice vnecks, color choices I dont like as much as jcrew but they have a pretty good selection of solid colors and other patterns, super soft and fit well. normally 10 bucks cant beat that. i love vnecks, can come across as somewhat dressy or casual depending on the look your going for

Lululemon has some really nice vneck tshirts. The fabric is a blended cotton so they have some stretch and hold their shape well.

Thank you! I'm going to go get some today.

for a quality/durable cotton v-neck that is slim and fits well, i go with doublju. not a good summertime shirt, too hot.

for a more casual, lighter feel that looks good and fits well (not sure about durability, how long they will last), i go with HANES slim fit 4-packs from target. i always hated HANES fit, but their slim fit v-necks aren't bad at all.

American Rag at Macy's ~$10

Uniqlo

I own 6-8 v-necks from H&M.

They are less than 10 bucks, and they last pretty well. Buy one or two blacks and whites, and get some random colours you like.

Calvin Klein stretch. They have a little bit of elastic so they fit the body w/o being loose or too tight

I am getting rid of all my v-necks, because they are making me look skinny.

I always buy at Banana Republic - best fit and quality I have found so far.

American Apparel.

Can't go wrong with Gap or Calvin Klein. H&M has some nice ones as well but as always durability is a big concern.

I just never thought of myself as a V-neck kind of guy.

Express stretch V-necks look good, but they wear out kind of quickly.

Just bought four of them today. Hope you're wrong about them wearing out quickly. Do you abuse your clothes?
