Alternatives to Fiverr, other sites for Graphic Design - Seth_Rose - 03-14-2014

I'm looking to do some updates on the design of my blog and so I sought out Fiverr to take care of some graphic design stuff.

I put in one order of a very reputable guy and got my product back today. Well, it looks like shit. I guess I shouldn't be surprised as I got what I payed for, but I was and am still displeased.

I went to Fiverr because that's a site I know of where I can get what I'm looking for cheap. However, it looks like that site's not going to cut it, so I'm wondering if there are other good sites out there like Fiverr, but that put out better quality? I realize I will need to pay more than $5 as well.

On that note, if you want to make some extra money or have a buddy who does and is good with graphic design then let me know as I'd be happy to give you my business rather than Sanjay in Calcutta.

I've used both crowdspring and 99designs for this sort of thing in the past. It's nice because you can write a detailed explanation of what you want and a bunch of graphic designers can submit their ideas. So instead of being stuck with what one guy makes you can choose from dozens of options. I had a very professional looking logo designed this way.

yep go for the crowdsourcing sites like 99designs. Designcrowd is a good one also.

peopleperhour.com is another strong source for freelance graphic design.

As someone who works for a professional design firm, this type of shit makes me cringe though. You definitely get what you pay for. Good luck.
