Not sensationalist, but speaks to great economists etc. Noam Chomsky's in there too, along with 'Economic Hitman' John Perkins.

It basically says we're at the end times of the 'Empire', in the Decadence phase. That the two party system is a joke as they're both front groups for corporate interests. Fiat Currency should be illegal etc. Basically, things we already know.

However it was so well done that is it well worth your 90 mins.

I will watch this. No one responded to my doco thread so maybe interest in documentaries low on the forum but good to see some sharing here.

Oops, I didn't know you had one mate.

However, this one was so good it perhaps deserves its own thread.

Nah, the Four Horsemen are Dawkins, Dennett, Harris, and Hitchens.

Four Horsemen Documentary - Astoundingly good. - samsamsam - 12-28-2013

I love documentaries, because I like to learn. The problem is there is only so much time in a day. Que enpastic, I saw the one about how America was made on TV. The other one looks good about WW2 but just need to find time for it. But keep posting. I think if even one person benefits from your post then you have made difference.

Teedub, I've watched (well played inthe background) about an hour of this. You should post it in the "is america worth saving thread". I am sure certain people will be on opposite ends of the conversation, but very applicable to that conversation. Thanks for sharing.

I prefer documentaries to films. And I think the standard (on average) is much higher for documentaries compared to films. But that might be because there are fewer of them.

I don't watch TV, films or documentaries anymore. I fell out of the habit for a few years and now I find it hard to concentrate unless it is brilliant (like the recent Mike Tyson show).

I prefer the freedom of a book which you can read anywhere. And which you can start and stop at will. Whereas with documentaries you feel like you have to watch it all in one go. And the first ten minutes is usually pretty show as it sets up the context for the film.

Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the Zietgeist series as well.

Can you post the link to the thread you're referring to?

This is a good documentary. I'm passing it on. Thanks for posting.

Take two seconds to look through the "Letters and Knowledge" sub-forum and I promise you will find it.

Teedub, to be honest, not a fan of this Four Horseman doco. Not quite as rigorously academic as I would have liked. A lot of spurious claims without strong evidence, even if I agree with the general tenor of the doco.

Just started reading 'After The State' by Dominic Frisby. Looks like a good book - but it is still too early to tell. I think it is one of those books arguing that government is the reason behind all of the problems in society.

Anyway - turns out he was the co-writer for this documentary.

Four Horsemen Documentary - Astoundingly good. - RexImperator - 01-13-2014

I agree with the above comments that it was thought-provoking but not terribly rigorous.

It seemed to lay most of the blame for growing economic inequality on the fiat monetary system. I think the causes are more complicated.

Thanks for this link. I'm glad to see someone made an entire movie about a Clash song. However, I wish it could have been "Safe European Home," my favorite.

Four Horsemen Documentary - Astoundingly good. - Piankhi - 11-25-2017

Bump. Just finished watching this documentary. Does that mean that all the poverty in the third world isn't because of low IQ but because of the corrupting influence of Western corporatocracy?

Four Horsemen Documentary - Astoundingly good. - 911 - 11-27-2017

That corrupting influence works hand in hand with the local corruption. Some colonial practices do keep third world country in poverty, and most famines are not just due to natural forces but mismanagement by local and global policymakers. Perkins' points are valid.

I got that earworm after reading the thread.

Saw the doc this weekend, not a bad work, it's a purple pill perspective for blue pillers. Same gatekeeping involved, for example they only address one facet of the central banking system, and don't mention that the Fed itself is privately held. But at least they show that Goldman Sachs and AIG robbed the taxpayer.

Is this one of those "the left tries to seduce the right with esotericism" type of documentaries like Zeitgeist and The Century Of Self?

Interesting take. Agree with you re the first but the second is more like the right trying to wake up open minded lefties, a soft intro to the red pill if you will.

Thanks for this. I liked it.

Four Horsemen Documentary - Astoundingly good. - Piankhi - 11-28-2017

So take Zimbabwe. If they let in these corporates will it be wham, bam, thank you mam? Is getting in bed with these 'investors' as a third world state a bad idea? If so what is the alternative?
