Mental Exercises for moving on - HakaHaka - 12-09-2010

I know the best remedy is to fuck a girl who is just as hot as the one with whom it didn't work out, but when no pussy is available, any good things to do or keep in mind - brooding is a vicious circle and I want to get out.

PS. It was kinda long-term. 1½ years.

It's just something time will only fix. When you're in the mental dumps because of a breakup from a long term relationship the best thing to do is to avoid any sort of thing that could get you thinking about her/your relationship. Change up your life a little... do something that you think will make you more attractive to other girls (gym, sports, etc) and take the time to hang out with other guys. You can't really force yourself to stop thinking about her, it just happens one day. The less you try to force it, I think, the faster it will happen.

Think of her taking a really big constipated dump. With the veins in her forehead and neck. Then go work out...and then work out some more. Run a marathon, pick up a new hobby. Fuck her friends.

Hey kerouac thats really great advice. Pretty much everything is in time's hands, but you should mayeb try doing new stuff/hobbies. Meeting new girls, anything that will keep your mind on something else and still make you feel good at the same time.

Do what you like to do and don't think about here. For example, if I was to ever be all emo about a girl I was banging, first option would of corse be fuck other girls, but if that's not an option, I would go snowboarding, or outwith some friends. Maybe go on a good hike, downhill mountain biking, running, learn some new stuff on the guitar. What makes you happy? Do that. And of corse, don't hang around herr, don't even acknowledge here.

Right now all your emotional energy is just circling around inside and breaking you down. You need to channel that energy into something productive.

Take up a physical hobby like working out, a sport, or martial arts and focus your energy there building your skills and confidence. That way when the next girl comes along you will be unshakable.

This is the key. You have to be active in something you enjoy so that your mind doesn't wander back to the past or into the future. Go pick up The Power of Now to learn exercises that will help you keep your mind in the present.

You got to internalise the concept that it is over. Period.

Don't talk about her with friends, and don't talk to her. In the case you can't avoid contact (co-worker, friend of friend, etc), keep contact brief and to a minimum.

But just to re-iterate the main point, you have tell yourself that it is over. No woulda-coulda-shoulda.

Once you get that it is over, the rest of the process comes easier.
