I'm picking up this Asus netbook on Black Friday, the price is going to drop to $99. Been needing to replace my 2009 Netbook for some time, it's barely functioning.

Any laptops around for about $200 or less besides this? This was the lowest I found too but you had to show up in person, which I'd rather avoid.
Otherwise, Best Buy is having a deal on Galaxy 8.4 tablets for $200.

I agree with the thinker, if you're going to spend 400 or 500 bucks on a laptop, just spend another 200-300 and future proof yourself.
4gb is minimal nowadays, with 8gb being preferred. In 2-3 years 4gb will be obsolete, it's starting to become obsolete nowadays.
I disagree. I think the need for more memory varies for each person. A casual user, for example, will gain no material benefit from purchasing a laptop with 8GB of RAM than one with 4GB of RAM. A music producer, on the other hand, will benefit more from that 8GB of RAM because he will be working with performance-intensive softwares.
If speakeasy is a casual user, and I'm assuming he is, 4GB of RAM is more than enough. 4GB of RAM is far from being obsolete. At least not for another 5 years, give or take.

Lenovo seems to do flash deals every other week or two, grab yourself a new thinkpad and don't think twice about it.

Second the thinkpads, you can't go wrong with lenovo. Build quality is actually good, keyboards are made for daily use (unlike any apple product made after 2015).
I even own a few 2008-2012 models of thinkpads and with a ram upgrade and SSD (or just any linux), they all work flawlessly today.
