"The 52-year-old Splash actress, who was diagnosed as a child, says she purposely avoided the limelight because her condition caused her “debilitating shyness”.

That fear often led her to refuse to promote the projects she was working on. “It was not because I was above it but because I was terrified. I wasted so much time scared, self-conscious and insecure,” The Kill Bill actress tells People magazine. “I’ve never been comfortable being the centre of attention. It has always freaked me out.”

here she is on the jon favreu show with marilyn manson and andy dick about 12 years ago. Andy is clearly high as a kite and ends up overtalking on everyone. I don't think she seems overly shy but Andy seems so drug addled and coked up, we don't really get to hear much from the others.

She's legit fucked up somehow, whether it's autism or drugs.

I worked at a high end deli in Malibu that catered to a lot of celebs around '04-'05. I met Tom Hanks, Dick van Dyke, Robert Downey Jr., Gary Busey (the only one whose autograph I asked for haha, he wrote "Rock on man")

Anyway one day Darryl Hannah comes in and the owners asks me to help her. She's standing over at the frozen soup section staring blankly.

I ask her, "Can I help you with something?"
"Yeahhhh. I need......to get......some........soup."
"Uh, okay. Do you know what kind of soup? Chicken noodle, clam chowder...?"
"Yeah. Okay. Those.......sound................good."

The whole times she's staring straight forward, blankly, and nodding. Honestly she was acting like she'd just downed a whole cocktail of percocets, xanax, and morphine all at once. Whether it was that or her "autism", she's definitely off somehow.

But yeah this piece is obviously just to get her name back out there. Loved her in Splash though.
