Anyone read this 6000+ page book?
I'm thinking about starting it but am hesitant... since its 6000+ pages long.

I started reading it, but the guy is just full of himself and he obviously doesn't allow the truth to get in the way of making himself look awesome. I got tired of it and only managed to get through a hundred pages or so.

I read a couple of volumes and then lost interest. The kindle version is free on amazon.

I've read a couple hundred pages a while ago. Was pretty interesting, but I was hoping to learn things that could be applied to modern day life, which it didn't really deliver.

It's a fantastic book and a great insight into life during the eighteenth century. Don't be put off by the length. You don't have to read all of it at once. A great bedside table book.
