This survey has words and pronunciations that show how English varies by region.

With cool color coded maps.

I'm guessing the guy who posed for Aliblahba's avatar says crawfish, coke, and pick-AHN.

So do I, but that doesn't mean I have a mullet or walk around shirtless

I've seen guys who look like that all over the country

108 - what vowel do you use in "bag". The whole country except for Minnesota, the Dakotas, and Wisconsin is wrong. End of story.

People from those states sound Canadian. Isnt that accent called old country? I never met anybody from that region till basic training. Their accents are funny as shit. Then I met Canadians and they sound the same to me. I dont know which accent is worst. A New Yorkers or a Cali Valley girl.

I think the research here is pretty weak, to be honest. There's not a lot of examples, just word usage.

A far, far, far more comprehensive examination of US Dialects can be found here:

http://aschmann.net/AmEng/#SmallMapUnitedStates

It's complete with Youtube documentation of each dialect.

I use a long "a" sound, like flag, fag, porn mag, etc.
Old country, hm? Never heard of that. I think we do sound canadian to some extent, and it is funny as shit especially once you go significantly north of the Iowa border. There's some small towns where 10% of the population still speak Norwegian as a first language and that weird ass "o" accent creeps into everything, doin'tcha know.
