fashionable and affordable hats for hot weather - beta_plus - 04-28-2013

I turned 37 this year. Along with more gray hair, I have suddenly started to have a real problem with sun burn. Just going for casual walks in DC for an hour this April has caused me to get burned.

This has never happened to me before.

I can see that it's time for me to start rocking a full brimmed hat to protect my face and neck . Any suggestions? I tried searching the forum but all I got was stuff in the $500 range. Sadly, I just don't have that kind of dough to drop on a hat. Plus, hats are the kind of thing I tend to lose. It would be nice to keep it under $50.

Also, it would be nice if they were easy to keep clean.

Already looking into Japanese sun block after this thread:

Imajinate a freakin cowboy hat down in DC, it would certainly be different, folks might confuse you for a texas senator or something.

If you can't rock that, I suggest avoiding fedoras and ballcaps, because those are a dime a fucking dozen.

Panama hats are pretty rocking for the non babyfaced gents.

I'd just use sun lotion. I've never seen anyone look better with a hat than with a good haircut and no hat.
