Which Airline has the best Miles Program? - Belize King - 04-20-2013

I search the forum and found nothing. I was to say it may have been discussed in the travel section but o well.

Plan on doing alot of traveling this year. Short weekend trips to Vegas, Cali, and new cities I've always wanted to hit up. A few international trips too mostly Mexico, DR, and Canada.

Is it worth setting up with any of the airline programs? I live in Corpus Christi so I get taxed everytime because I have to hit Houston or Dallas hub. What are your experience with the sky miles programs. I love Delta but the shit is expensive. I am thinking about Southwest but they don't go to Mexico. I don't know if the merger will change that.

I appreciate the info. If you don't believe it's worth it, tell me why.

The ones I like best and I get upgraded regularly are AAdvantage and Mileageplus.

If you're going to Colombia you'll probably use Copa air so get Mileageplus. I have their credit card with chase. If you spend $1,000 in the first 3 months you get 30,000 miles.

As an example, since I live in Michigan I fly out of DTW. DTW uses Delta as its primary airline so unfortunately I have a mileage plan with Delta. Becuase of that I try to only fly with Sky Alliance members.

If you fly out of Dallas it would be best to use AA. Not sure if Delta would be a good choice because you probably get a crap ton of options flying out with American anyways. You should probably stick with One Alliance since American is connected with them..(i believe) and not Delta.
