LL Cool J, Brad Paisley Song "Accidental Racist" - Hencredible Casanova - 04-11-2013

This song has stirred up quite a bit of controversy. LL's lyrics are particularly shocking.

"Dear Mr. White Man, I wish you understood
What the world is really like when you're livin' in the hood
Just because my pants are saggin' doesn't mean I'm up to no good
You should try to get to know me, I really wish you would

Now my chains are gold but I'm still misunderstood
I wasn't there when Sherman's March turned the south into firewood
I want you to get paid but be a slave I never could
Feel like a new fangled Django, dodgin' invisible white hoods
So when I see that white cowboy hat, I'm thinkin' it's not all good
I guess we're both guilty of judgin' the cover not the book
I'd love to buy you a beer, conversate and clear the air
But I see that red flag and I think you wish I wasn't here

"If you don't judge my gold chains, I'll forget the iron chains."

Why is it causing controversy?

Mainly LL's lyrics "If you don't judge my doo rag, I won't judge your red flag." Many people don't find the symbolism of a doo rag to be remotely equivalent to the confederate flag.

Also, his line "If you don't judge my gold chains, I'll forget the iron chains." "Iron chains" refers to slavery. That's an extreme concession for not being judged for wearing jewelry.

So is LL on some Uncle Tom shit or did he just make a dumb mistake?

BTW "Mama Said Knock You Out" is the best rap

So people are basically getting booty hurt over a horrible song? I'm guessing it's horrible because Ll cool j has sucked for at least 20 yrs and Braid Paisley is a wack, mainstream country artist.

LL is 45? Damn, it's true: "Black don't crack."

Does that observation make me "accidentally racist"?

lol, 20 years, Houston? A bit extreme, I'd say, LOL!

I think public these days are too sensitive. Everyone looking into everything people saying, didn't Rick Ross get judged for some rape lyric the other day?

9 out of 10 people that proudly fly the confederate flag are racist good ol boys. Some don't give a fuck and will let you know and some wont be so up front about it. This is from my experience.

I'm confused, when was LL Cool J a slave, what is he supposed to forget about? Am I not supposed to judge people by their attire? Or can I only do it after I ask about their ancestral background?

This is a stupid song and from what I can see the people criticizing it are stupid women, whiny self entitled non whites, betas and other assorted half-faggots.

Pharrell Williams just turned 40. I wonder what's his secret?

Was watching this talk between Pharrell and Henry Rollins. Rollins is 52, but looks like he could be 62. Pharrell is 40 but looks like he could still be an undergrad. I like Rollins, but he's proof that men can have a wall too.

Yeah, I agree. It's harder to know which side to hate more.

On the one hand, you have celebrities whose "yes men" didn't bother to tell them that equating what you wear with racism is way off the mark (how about skin color, guys - remember that?). On the other, you have the anally-clenched, know-it-all know-nothing hipsters thinking their job is to "scold" musicians who get politically incorrect.

This whole thing is retarded. I'm starting to hate pop music.

LL Cool J, Brad Paisley Song "Accidental Racist" - Screwston - 04-12-2013

Pharell has a baby face, is thin and hardly has any facial hair. His wikipedia page says he started working in the music industry in the early 90's so I doubt he's really had a stressful life or had to work bullshit jobs like a lot of other people. He looks weird with facial hair which is helping prove my theory that baby faced guys need to only have goatee's. Rollins would look a lot better if he matched up that head of hair to his black eyebrows.

Pharell also looks like he has some Asian blood so when you combine the two races that don't crack, you really don't crack.
