Pretty good happy hour (union square NYC) - TheCaptainPower - 04-06-2013

I decided to take a break from Thursday happy hour this week, and I went out on a Friday. I also went out to Union Square instead of my old spots, the Village or the Financial District.

If you have never been to Union Square in NYC I highly recommend it. Union Square was my spot almost every single weekend from ages 21-25. It is really good for the "after college and working first job" crowd. I like union square for a couple reason: I stopped hanging out at Union Square because its a little big too grimy for me, and a little too crowded, but it's still pretty kick ass.

Yesterday I went to "the headless horseman" http://headlesshorsemannyc.com/

Decent happy hour ($5 all beers), and it was a 50/50 ratio. Most of the guys were just standing there, so I opened up at LEAST 9-10 sets.

Met this insane 30 year old Jewish girl who works for my friend's marketing company. She just got divorced and told me "I need $100K and a big dick". I have neither, but I kept talking to her. Eventually she goes "let me see what you have", and started rubbing my johnson while I ordered a beer.

She was only a 5.5-6 , and I wasn't drunk enough to advance it.

Overall, if you are in the city short term, union square area is a good place to find a quick bang if you aren't worried about quality.

I recommend:

Bar None (dirty hook up bar)
Finnerties (san fran/fire department bar)
Headless Horseman
Nevada Smith's (soccer bar)
Webster hall (club)

But pretty much there are a million places around there, and they change all the time.

Bro Js is popular among NYU sorority girls as a "low key" night. Hard to find a spot to isolate, though.

Sidebar has a great crowd for Gators games and can be solid at night.

I used to crush it at Still Bar on 17th and 3rd back in the day, but now it's called something else and possibly under new management. Used to be $1 beer Tuesday's there. Now the headline $1 beer Tuesday night is at 13th Step at 10th and 2nd, but 13th Step is much more brightly lit and sausage-y.

Webster Hall has happy hours?!

I love NYC. What's up with the Jew that was weird. There's a bunch of happy hours by W. 4th. 3 Sheets Saloon. That area is a disaster late night though.

@ Kabal Not sure if webster hall has Happy hour. It used to be pretty cheap for a club, haven't been there in at least 7-8 years.

@ Lights 3 sheets is hit or miss. I think Off the Wagon on MacDougal and West 3rd is a lot better. My brother met the Yankee pitcher joba chamberlain in 3 sheets salon. Multi millionaire was drinking $6 pitchers of coors light.
