Opinions on week vacation - Thesponge - 03-04-2013

I have about 9-10 days of vacation time off of work and I'm trying to decide what destination. I have family in Hawaii and a really good friend who lives in tianjin, china. I'm leaning towards China but my job is intense and I fear if I'm gone for that long combined with jet lag and 0 recovery time ill be really lagging when I get back since I'm on the east coast of the u.s. my goals are to party/game and also experience the culture. Just seeing if some more experienced travelers have some ideas or suggestions.
